I never understood why the Fox boys didn't try to get some sponsorship over the years. They had more victories than anybody else and had a classy driver. I guess they just wanted to run their own deal but I still don't quite get it.

Smart move on the Williams team's part. Probably the best money they'll spend all year.

I guess maybe you have not been out looking for sponsors lately. Here's a fact every race team including the fox 53 has been looking for money and there is not much out there. The stewart's and kahns can get to people that the average racer can not. Until sprint cars can offer a tv deal there will not be any real money from sponsors available. The best hope is dad's wallet or a group of small sponsors that can offset some of the cost. When you talk to a marketing person about racing sponsorship they will tell you for every 1,000 packets sent out you will get about 1-2% in replies and only luck will land anything. The worst part right now is the economic problems we are all seeing.

Hate to see the 53 car being parked now was a pleasure to watch this car race. The driver and the crew had something that is very hard to find and that is chemistry and they clicked very well together.Hopefully if the economy and things get going maybe they can get some backing and go after it again.

I've seen Jon, DD and A couple other drivers in the Baldwin Five. I've seen the car win too. A field filler? Quite honestly I don't care if your running the biggest **** box out there. IM happy you put forth the effort and $$$ to do it for us.

Sorry I just can't see fielding a car and people saying it was a field filler. Unless some particular problem like bad driving or unraceable parts is a issue.

IM with ya Broc 100 percent on that

Well, sorry to hurt your feelings, but I think its a fair comparison with the 53. I've seen the 5 run well a couple times and even win once, but more often mid-pack, or parked. However, you're entitled to your opinion.....as am I.

The owner of that 5 car is a TOTAL wierd-o. Jon does most of the work for very little in return. If a better deal opened up I'm almost sure he'd jump ship on the Baldwin 5. As for the 53, chemestry will only take you so far in this business. Eventually everyone gets complacent. They had a good run and things come to an end. Know this, Jon will win races and so will the Fox brothers. It's difficult to find someone with the "want-to" that Jon has. For Brad and Steve, maintaining a racecar is as natural to them as waking up in the morning. The easiest thing to do is blame it on Mr. Happy!!!!!!!!!!! HAHA!

I wouldn't say the Baldwins'(Kenny/Margo) are wierd, they are good people. They have helped many people in this sport. In several ways other then giving them rides. They just don't approach racing as if it is their life; because it isn't. They are very successful at their business interests and that is where their dedication is.

The Baldwins' are part of a dying breed. Car owners who have equipment and hire drivers are becoming scarce. Do they run their team like I would if I where them? No. On the other hand, they have the money, time, and abilty to own a team today and I don't anymore. It is their right to run their team as they see fit and they give drivers excellent chances to continue chasing their dreams, thrill some fans and make a little money at the same time.

I say good for them and I am sure they and Jon or whomever is in their equipment will win some races together.

Nobodys denying the Fox Bros being top of the line but I didn't see that car dominate the way it did without Jon. Was it then a field filler as it were?

Sure there are cars out there that may never win without some stroke of luck. I said what I said because it certainly (To me) doesn't mean they don't deserve to be on the track and can't offer excitement. I really think that only another driver or owner has any right to say that. I've seen Dickie Gaines almost win in a car that almost never made a feature and had truck on the front.
