:headbang:headbangTarps ? The place needs a contractor that knows how to read a contract. They also need a project manager that knows how to deliver a project on time.We all know that rain can delay site work. This should have been thought of in October when fun fest was over .This should have been thought of in December when the work hadn't been started. This is a bunch of bull that should have been seen through MONTHS ago.We are tired of excusses and the call for patience. The end is nowhere in sight and the delays are continuous. Please fire the contractor and find someone who can keep his word.

Thats why I posted it.

Speculation is one thing but how does Mudslinger actually know whats in the contract to build it?

Not knocking you and share your frustration.

I had hoped that they would open on the 17th, but I don't know if having a high dollar show as the first race on a new track is a good idea. Opening night should be dollar beer night.

Your correct Charles I DO NOT KNOW what is in the contract. But I do know that contractors have to deliver on time or face a monetary penalty. This is just frustrating, and as a tax payer to the city and the county I cant help but feel a ticked off. I know what would happen if I was late paying the taxes on my farm.

Anyone know when the contract was actually signed? I suspect this was the reason for work not starting sooner than it did. If so, the contractor is not entirely to blame for the delay in completing the project.

Ya'll are referring to a 'liquidated damages' clause that would force the contractors to cough up money for every day the project goes past its planned completion date.

I have worked on many public & private projects (schools, prisons, museums, libraries, etc..). In my experience, it is very rare that liquidated damages are part of the contract.

Bottom line: Either the contractor is late on the project or the races were scheduled too early in the season, or both. But I have no fear that we will all be enjoying the speedway in the near future. Likely a year from now this delay will be ancient history.

That could be true but even the latest contract that was signed said it would be done by now.

Im just upset there is no racing, I can't imagine how much in loss the promotor is taking on this. Without our support, there may be no next year.
