Just read on the website that May 17, 2008 has been taken off of the schedule and they are now hoping to open the 24th. In one word "RIDICULOUS"!!!!! This is not a slam on the city or Dave but this is frustrating as hell. The weather excuse doesn't fly because they wasted a ton of above average weather days waiting to get started on the track. Dave must have been told some BS because he has continually stated that they have the man power to work 24/7 but still not done. It is too bad they aren't being fined for every day that they are not finished. Sorry to be so negative here but I want to see some @#$%^ racin.

Later,
Shane

I feel bad for Dave and crew. If they don't reschedule that race he will lose the sanction fee and I believe it's too risky to run on a week night. I don't think any more weekend dates are available.

From what I understand the WoO is having a problem getting promoters to pony up their sanctioning fee. The WoO is in serious financial straits and the promoters are unwilling to risk losing that money before the race is run. I've heard that that is at least part of the reason the WoO has lost some races this year.

Hey guys give them a break , their not building a house they are building a new monument. Perfection takes time be glad they are getting it done right, push things like this and you could get a H of a mess. Plenty of places to race anyways.

I really shouldn't say nothing. However Dave is loosing his tail on all of this. He's already put out several grand and hasn't got one payday.

I stopped by at 8pm tonight after fishing with dad, The grandstand crew was hard at work and has the turn two stand about halfway done. The fence is done. The lights are almost all installed However a pit exit road hasn't been made and a few other things. It also looks like they only have one of the two layers of clay down.

Best wishes at TC tomorrow and have a great time.

Chuck, who wants to see a race at the Burg as much as anyone.

them not getting it done doesnt bother me i get to see sprint races every week at a track 10 miles from my house..dont have to drive an hour and a half and put $25.00 worth of gas in my truck to get there...sorry but with the price of gas and the cost of admission to get in over there this year i might make it to 1 sprint week show and the mscs show later in the year

Sorry for the venting but I am just ready to go back to the burg. Once again, this is not a slam on Dave or the city because I know a lot of this is out of their control and I am sure if there was a way that Dave could do something he would. Racefan 20 don't really understand the get a grip this is our hometown track, been going for twenty five years, tired of going to TC, long winter, anxious to see the new Burg but you weren't here everyday while several good weather days were wasted in the fall. I could probably come up with a lot more. I am sure it will be worth the wait though. Hopefully everyone will get to go racing today.

Getting a grip,

Shane
