I will say that those local classes Saturday night are what keeps a race tracks doors open. The race was on the track's normal night of racing unlike at Quincy where it was a special night. If Quincy had been a Sunday night event we would have had to add some local classes. At tracks with strong weekly programs where track championships are at stake like Macon and Quincy its really hard to leave them all at home on their regular race night. Especially with all the rainouts this year.

I'm not starting a war with ya. I totally agree with what your saying and even told the wife that as she isn't a big fan of a lot of classes. But when it's a special week you would think they could get the powri guys out of there when they have a race the next day. Macon ran a great program and there was no way they could of made it any faster with all the cars they had. But my beef is with the order they ran the features in. The fans are tired after traveling all week and some have 3 to 5 hours to travel home or to the next track and Macon held us hostage til well after midnight last night. After all that said I will be back. Great racing all night last night.

I am not picking on the track. But did they need to run the classes in the order that they ran them? Did they have to have each heat winner act like they just won the indy 500. Drive the wrong way while other cars are coming on the track? Run the 4 cylinder class, then run them again with the other drivers in the same car? What ever that fight was after the mod race? It look like the track workers against the officials, driver vs driver. I love the winners trophies being used as a fighting tool. On a side note, liked how many of the drivers did not wear racing gloves. A lot of race tracks can drop a class or two on special nights. Change the start time.

I have had so much fun just hanging out with everyone, meeting new people, taking photos in the infield and watching the races! I look forward to going to more races, and meeting more IOW members as well as everyone else. To the whole entire staff and all the workers, etc that put Illinois speedweek together and all the car owners, drivers and crews that came out ...THANK YOU ALL!!! I look forward to coming back!! First trip to poweri midget week and I was impressed! I have to agree with those who said Macon had too many support classes. Poweri should not let that happen.

I would like to also thank Ken for his great hospitality and promoting. Its not everyday that you go to a track and the promoter takes the time to make sure his fans are well taken care of. Thank you for the VIP arm bands. We really enjoyed both nights of racing. We will be back for any open wheel specials you may run in the future. We made all 4 races and your hospitality was still being talked about at Belleville. Also would like to thank James Florence for a comfy place to sleep. We had a blast!
