stewart and eldora are too busy promotong push vehicles as racing impliments and usac is too busy building little ramps for those things to jump over for either of them to give a rats ass about racing/ we need a new non-wing sprint car sanctioning body who is willing to go all out for the sport!

Look Up In the Grandstand and it very easy to understand why. No people, Earl didn't have to hit a home run on every race. And USAC doesn't draw enough people to waste a date, and have all this professional key board operators, talk smack on how they could do it better. Eldora is a business that has to pay a lot of people Earl didn't.

Actually, I do not disagree with some of your analysis. However, this is a bit like the old chicken or egg metaphor. Perhaps, some motivational promotion, as in the Baltes era); i.e. some major events, etc. USAC certainly is not blameless, but the scheduling philosophy of the track seems pretty clear. Apparently the O'Connors, Rudisells and other ISW promoters seem to recognize this, but in today's world stops at Western Ohio border.

Bad decision, Earl had almost as many employees as Tony does, it's still the same track. What a shame, a place I used to go to almost every time the gates opened and now I mostly drive past it on my way to other tracks. Glad the Burg has enough courage to race when it's 50 degrees outside.

I know, Brent...but sure would be nice to see them schedule more than 2 races a year....the April date seems to get canceled about every other year.

I agree. I was hoping the early August race last year would stick.

Don't forget the tractor pulls & monster trucks. If they are still running them which I don't even check there schedule. Went 3 times last year, Memorial Day weekend, July USAC show & the 2nd night of the 4 crown. Besides whats mentioned above is the ****** track conditions the last couple of years & changing of dates & say how the 4 crown is/was ran.

Put Earl back in charge...Stewart sucks! USAC always draws about the same number of people there and it apparently was enough for Earl. It may not be as much as what the Inlaws draw but the purse is smaller too. Once again I'm extremely disappointed at only 1 USAC race there, especially when the opportunities to see the sprints on the halves are so few and far between these days.

That was celebration of 50 years of Eldora and USAC holding races together. The event paid quite well and I would think if Eldora didn't want USAC, It wouldn't have happened in the first place.

Earl tried many things to get USAC Races some worked, others didn't. The HBO shows were to be USAC, All Stars, WOO and Independent HBOd, The Mopar Nationals and USAC openers sometimes with two night shows..

So lets see, Schedual a Non Wing show in July and your running against four to five other tracks running non wing on a saturday night. Paragon. LPS, Waynesfield, Flora Il and the Burg. Possibly a Boss show going on. Both Fan and car counts get diluted.

Only way something will work is pic a date and take the several years it takes to build a event.

I've also found that in many cases, The success or failure of shows has A TON TO DO WITH WEATHER.

It totally amazes me sometimes when THE ONLY SHOW IN TOWN such as a midweek sprint week race or some of the fall big money races only have 3000 people show up, Which also tells me most of Non Wing Fans are Local show weekend outing lovers who are not the TOTAL DIE HARD Racefans that many of us here are. Oh they love racing and the racers but are either unwilling or unable to travel for it much
