Actually, during the Earl Baltes era, there were no less than 4 USAC shows a year at Eldora. Johnny Appleseed race with Late Models took place every Memorial Day's eve; and then, in the summer, you had an event also- either the Buckeye Nationals, or the Mopar Thunder.
Just isn't the same place anymore; used to feel like home. It still sucks that I'll have no reason to head to Rossburg until late September (shame on all organizing parties).
Ever since Stewart got it there have been less and less USAC races there. Of course he's a real Outlaw now right. It's disgusting there will only be one USAC sprint car race there this year and it's a shared event. I went to them all last year, 7hrs. each way from Iowa and could'nt wait for more this year. They finally got a good track prep guy and now we don't get to race there. Booooo!

The new owner/administration has obviously put USAC on the back burner and now emphasizes late models, WoO and advancing the NASCRAP label. I'm just glad I was able to see so much great racing during the Baltes era.
