Ever think that maybe the work being done at the Burg was contracted out by the city and not RPM? Sorry for the delay Shane , but this goes well beyond Dave. I would like to know what the city is charging the contractor for being late or if the city just got paid off in a lump some and told to get over it . As a racer this flat out kills a season. Its a good thing we dont run for points or my season would really be a mess.

Stopped by the Burg last evening and walked a lap around the track. I was a little surprised to see that it was such good weather and knowing that rain was on the way and there was not one person working. New clay is only on the front, 1+2, and the back stretch, none in 3+4. I personally doubt that we will see any racing at the Burg before June.

I wouldn't be too quick to judge or blame anyone for a delay except the weather. One day of heavy rain (and you have had more than your share this year) can set a project back for weeks. Just because it is nice weather today doesn't mean any work can be done. I would guess that their source for the clay is probably still MUD and they can't work with mud.

Al, The clay is sitting back in the pits and was fine. I stop down there once a week so really I am not jumping to quickly just stating what I observed. As Chuck said the track was not that wet. Work could have been going on. Maybe the construction company has moved thier point of interest to somewhere besides Lawrenceburg Speedway. Seriously doubt that the KISS show on the 24th will happen.

I didn't enter the grounds, Electricians were hooking up the signals and lights, Very dangerous to be around. There was a dozer piddling about the track and grading on the RV plaza outside on the backstraight but no lights being raised, No clay being moved.
You could probably run a race with half the lightpoles and flagmen in the corners outside and in but the track has to be done first!
I may be missing something and Al might be more right than wrong on the clay (In the mountain) being too saturated to work with.
Just seems like a lack of effort. When they work, A ton gets done.

I agree Chuck, This has gotten way out of hand . At this point I cant blame anyone but the contractor.I just hope the city is getting money back for every day of delay. I stop down 2 to 3 times a week and see little or no progress. This falls strictly on the contractor. We were all told when the project started late that work would be done 24/7 if need be. I dont see it. I think its time to get some local media involved and let them start digging into contracts. I really feel for the guys that this is the only track that they race at. They are flat out getting screwed, just like RPM and the city.

Seems like a couple hundred in tarps would have gotten 48 hours worth of work done.
What do I know?
