If you guys have anything left, after you buy this fellow some new sprint car tires, could you send it my way..... If not, I will actually have to get a job and earn the money to buy them myself...... Thanks for your help!

I understand all the DC fans stepping up and helping their favorite driver. My question is, if the fans help one driver, are they going to help every driver that gets on here and asks for help? I think running the ASCOC schedule and with the payouts they have v. local shows and USAC that the team might be able to be a little more self sufficient, but maybe I am wrong. I know the team I help with reinvests every dollar the car makes back into the racing fund and that helps a little, but there is always out of pocket expenses. We have very little sponsorship. In today times financially I understand that a sponsor is a hard deal to come by and every little bit helps, so kudos to those willing to help. Maybe the fans that help out can get a little taste of the financial commitments that these teams make to entertain we fans each and every weekend. From a business standpoint, doesn't every sponsor want to know what you as a team can do for them? Whether it be at the track exposure to your brand, or just being a race fan wanting to see their name on a car there has to be some type of return for your investment. Maybe it is just seeing DC run a non wing race this year, or are they going to put the names on the car of every donor? Maybe those who help out could get a financial return on their investment if the car wins. Best of luck to the92 team and hope to see them at the 'Burg.

I wish he would keep his wing ON and leave the "non wingys" alone. GO Daron!!! Stay safe!

A race car driver looking for a sponsor? Completely unheard of. How dare Shelley seek out a SPONSOR for her husbands race car. The nerve of race teams these days is just out of this world.

sounds like a good reason to contact "Acorn" to me. Don't worry about the rest of us non wingers, we all have plenty of money to buy tires...

So, the team's askin for a tire sponsor..so what! If the fans/businesses want to help sobeit! The last ASCoC race is Sept. 26th, the guy just wants to race some more before winter hits!
I remember Hud Cone starting his fan club earlier this season and here's what the first paragraph said..."We are trying to raise money for our race team. This is just a thought, and we wanted to see what kind of response we get. We are thinking about opening up a fan club that would help finance our race team. Desperate times call for desperate measures. We already have a lot of people that make this possible, but it never seems to be enough to compete at the top level." GO Get 'Em MDC!!! See ya @ the Burg!!!!

I am in no way putting down the idea, in fact as I said, best of luck to them and I hope to see them at Lawrenceburg. My question still remains, if we have 15-20 non wing teams/drivers get on here and ask for tire money, is everyone willing to help them just the same?

not trying to be negative and i too hope DC races at the burg. i just find it ironic they left non wing racing for the wings because there's more money in wings. on top of that their 3rd in points (congrats) but now that theres a couple of good non wing purses coming up they can only race if someone buys some tires. we all need sponsors and theres no problem with asking ,i just find it ironic , as i stated.
