Take a look at the website, or google RaceSaver. I think you'll be impressed by the forethought put into the rules.

In this economy, the last thing needed is another series. Tracks are already having trouble with car counts.

Like I said, look at how Fremont and Attica run their 305 class. $500 to win at Attica, $750 to win at Fremont, 30+ cars at every race. It doesn't take away from their 410 car count one bit either. The 305 class can work, especially non-wing, you can get a good engine for around 5-6 thousand. It would need to be centralized around 1 or 2 tracks though, unlike the traveling deal like SCORA.

This is why I think this idea could potentially work...however...I think that Lawrenceburg would be the most likely canidate to try it first. They are right on the border or OH and KY and for whatever reason are having troubles getting sprint cars to show up. (not sure why at $1,500 to win $225 to start)

But the AMSA mini sprints are getting over 20 every night. But see...they also run mini sprints at a lot of places in Ohio.

305's could work at the Burg, but I think they'd have to start off running them winged.

Personally I think Lawrenceburg is a better winged track than nonwinged, so I think that would work pretty well. Also the location would work, because its over 4 hours from Attica, so you're really not going to steal cars or compete with them. There are a few cars south of Columbus they may draw over though.

305 wing sprints at the burg sounds like a idea good, i would run i checked in to 305 at attica and fremont but the 3+ hr drive wouldnt workout. Nonwing 410 wing 305, mods and minis should be a great weekly show at a great track.

I believe that they would not be doing this without fan approval.

West Memphis is running a 305 class without wings on a weekly basis, and it seems to be growing. My only beef with them is that their rules don't coincide with the RaceSaver rules, so you're stuck with having to have two motors if you'd want to run both places. But, to be perfectly honest, I've not approached West Memphis with the spector of running a RaceSaver motor with them.

All this to say that, while it's still probably at least 5 years away, I think you'll see more and more 305 classes emerging.

Hey Tim,
I couldn't resist a feeble attempt at a little humor.
I love sprintcar racing in any variety or venue. I just thought instead of the old "beating a dead horse" I would throw that picture in because, as much as it has already been discussed, I can't ever see an encono sprint class taking hold in Indiana.
But I have been wrong before, I think, maybe?

I am sure if a series get started, you'll see me there watching.

I really don't consider 305's an econo class, just a cheaper alternative to 410 racing. I Consider econo classes spec engines, shocks, basically anything spec so people don't have to spend money.

305 C.I steel block, steel wheels, flat or dished wing, DT-3 or MC-3 and go race. Use Attica/Fremont rules and can build a competitive car for the price of a mini sprint.
