Tonight they announced that 305s were going to run in addition to the USAC show at Knoxville tomorrow, so we will get a chance to see how entertaining they are. I assume that this is winged 305s, but I could be wrong.

It COULD work. Fremont and Attica run 305's and 410's on a weekly basis, with 25-35 410's and 30-40 305's.

There is a local track in Oklahoma around the Okc area that is going to try 305 "carb" non-wing sprint next year. More of an economy type of sprint. The interest is there in the ramblings from the pits but we all know ramblings mean nothing when the cars take the track

This is exactly what SCORA should be. Lots of used parts available in the Ohio area. After two years make them run steel wheels 14" RR 12" LR. Make it where a guy could put a decent Md. or street stock motor in it. JMO

There are already pockets of 305's around. The RaceSaver is beginning to take ahold in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. This particular group is run by Smiley Sitton. Their website is sprintseriesoftexas.com. Now, before I get called on the carpet that this is a winged series, which it is, they've been running several races a year without the wings. I believe that they would not be doing this without fan approval.

West Memphis is running a 305 class without wings on a weekly basis, and it seems to be growing. My only beef with them is that their rules don't coincide with the RaceSaver rules, so you're stuck with having to have two motors if you'd want to run both places. But, to be perfectly honest, I've not approached West Memphis with the spector of running a RaceSaver motor with them.

All this to say that, while it's still probably at least 5 years away, I think you'll see more and more 305 classes emerging.

I agree but there must be severe limits on what can and can't be done with the engines to control costs. 360 sprints were suppose to be a cost effective alternative and look at what they are now? Same with the Focus series. If costs aren't limited, it will only lead to another form of racing few can be a part of.
