I ended up with 114, I think. Quite a few rain-outs this year. 54 tracks by my count. I saw a lot of really, really good races this year....makes me wonder how things could possibly get better than the on-track action I've seen over the past two years, especially!

Well it was close to 30 races even though I voted 11-20 on the poll. If you count practices its 30 even. I almost forgot the spring races I attended at Twin Cities, The three visits to Gas City and even the recent Rumble in Ft Wayne. Please tell me my memory isn't failing me at 43yrs.

Still I consider that a pretty good year, several shows were rained out and the whole spring of local racing was cancelled due to construction. I consider it good because I work 42hrs over the weekends Fri, Sat and Sun.

Still a far cry from my hundred race seasons of the late eighties and early ninetys of at least three races a week, sometimes four or five.

I also consider it good considering gass was over 4.00 a gallon most of the sumer. The camp show alone cost 120 in fuel and only 30 for a pit pass. Sheesh.

Chuck, Hoping everyone has a good year in 09, Keeps their jobs and takes care of their families.

Is it attending a race if you don't actually get to see the race?

I hit the USAC shows at the 'burg plus two regular shows. All the USAC shows at Winchester, the Little 500, the Indy 500 and one day of practice and one day of quals at indy. And IRL and Indy Lights at Kentucky. I may have left out one or two as I am going by my feeble memory. But in my heart I went to about 200 races.

I have gone from 50 a year to less than ten a year. That's what happens when you are older and poorer than you used to be. And also I took more time for my wonderful family as some relatives are older and who knows how much longer they will be around? I can't believe I am saying this, but there are some more important things than racing - like family. But it sure seems to make it extra special when I do get to a race.:thumb
