I was only able to attend 2 races all year. My wonderful freakin employer saw fit to put me on a schedule that nearly wiped out all chances for attending and when I planned vacation to go either the weather or the economy screwed it up.

Now with the upcoming layoffs at my jobsite I will have plenty of time to go. Can't afford it but can go.

I was very fortunate in 2008 as I was able to squeeze in 71 shows. If the weather cooperates this year I hope to see more than that.

I had a career year at 99 shows. 14 of those got rained out. I know at least 6 states and i would have to check on how many tracks.

Seen 65 races which included many sprint races, a handful of midget shows, a Silver Crown race, a few Late Model shows, the Indy 500, IRL @ Kentucky, a couple of local drag races, Gravelrama (flat sand drags), and the Motorcycle races at IMS & the fairgrounds.

Had a visit with, Cliff Cockrum, (who would pass away over the summer) at his home in Benton, Ill, and a visit to the shop of Hall of Fame car owner/mechanic Clarence “Mutt” Anderson in Xenia, Oh.

My 2008 race/motorsports events calendar is >HERE<:checkered:
