What I think is ironic is how this was supossed to be the Championship race for the MSCS series but didn't seem that any where even mentioned in the top 5 other than Balough who really doesn't run for the points. Kind of like last year. Does this matter or not?

I am just kind of wondering if there would be any difference if this was a MSCS sanctioned event or not?

I have thought that the last MSCS race of the season should be lined up for the feature by points rather that the regular format to reward all the drivers that have competed all year for MSCS points.

Do any of you think this would be a good idea or not?
I can see the concern of having the high profile teams cherry picking the big money events but, wouldn't lining them up by points eliminate the need for heats? or, how many spots would your reserve for loyal MSCS supporters and how many spots would the rest of the field be racing for? I think the problem with the points deal would be that many teams would stay away because the points guys would have all of the good spots sewn up before you even load up the car to go to the track. You can forget about the 70 and 58 car fields respectively, that the burg has gotten the last 2 years. I'm also sure the large car counts, and the accompanying pit gate, really helps towards paying off that large purse. While the premise is just, I just don't think it could work in a business sense. Not only would the car counts suffer, I think your crowds would too, in anticipation of the big teams staying away. JMO!

Sorry I missed it. Sounds like a great show.
Cecil, I agree with your assessment. But maybe the folks over at Terre Haute would have been a little happier.
Curious, how was the grandstand crowd?

GREAT RACE and congrats to Ballou but can't figure out why Stanbrough didn't move to the top ,after getting the lead, and taking Robert line away. Turns out that should have worked since Robert was out of breaks.

This isn't a playoff or should it be. It's open to all, A chance to showcase MSCS competition and give everyone a fair show at the $$$. I heard Cummins name mentioned several times as well as Memmer, Cone and others as for the points in a MSCS it should count as no different than any other show.

So NO is your answer.
Chuck, who does think tracks can run money races without the sanctions. Schedualling is the key. ONE of the best car count and money shows I ever seen was run up against the Kings Royal. No it wasn't 50 grand but it was 5 grand and had a hell of a turnout and race to boot.

I wasn't there for midget week or the Hoosier fall classic but that was the biggest crowd i had ever seen at the Burg. SLightly more than either sprintweek night.

Chuck, only one person has the official numbers

No way. After each year is over, some of the high-dollar MSCS events are ALWAYS some of the best races I saw that year. And is ALWAYS because the Robert Ballous, Jon Stanbroughs, Dave Darlands, Daron Claytons, Hunter Schurenbergs, Brady Shorts, Damion Gardeners, Dickie Gaineses and Jeff Blands of the World who showed up to throw down and take the big prize. I was there last night and wouldn't change a thing about the way this program was run.

Decent Race! Stanbrough I thought was the man. Ballou nice job staying committed to the top. I see just as much passing in a wing show.

Apparently this guy only watched Ballou the whole race.... because if he did Ballou went 2nd to 3rd to 1st to 2nd to 1st, so 40 laps thats not much passing, but there was great racing back through the field, and a lot of cars went from the back to the front
