They were also very popular in the marine camp, I found one that had been in a boat, it's now in a Suzuki Sammy, burnin up the streets of Franklin, In! They were also opened up, and ran in Sprint cars, some older editions of Open Wheel ran several article's on them, race parts are still very obtainable for them, and, you can also open the hood on a new one, and get a 2012, 215, with factory FI, try dropping that in a midget! That'll make em dizzy! Bob

Just like the Ford 60hp, it was still being built, and available in an automobile, as late as 1957, by then it was in a Simca, same deal, Ford gave the patterns and drawings to the foreign market. I put a lot of the 215's in Vegas, the V8 was 40 lbs lighter then the 4cyl, and much more Hp and reliability. Bob!
I think they were the first cars that you could order with a factory installed turbocharger and alky injection that cooled the intake charge. Had a little bag on the inner fender where you put the secret cooling fluid. These things were pretty fast back in the day.

Back then midgets also ran the old Ford Falcon 144ci six, Chevy II Iron Duke, and the little Porsche flat 6,the fore runner of the VW midget. I thought those guys were rich also.
