I know that this situation has nothing to do with the track itself, but why does it seem to happen at "the action track". Too many people have had bad injuries there in recent years.

I think a lot has to do with speeds that come with a 1/2 mile track versus smaller tracks.

Can a helmet come that far out of the cage still attached to the hans, or did the hans come up with it ???

Yes, the teathers are about 6" long on each side, and located at the top of the back of the HANS. It appears his chin strap wasn't fastened, nor the shield locked down.

to everyone on here my helmet strap was tight. i always make sure it is strap. safty is one of my biggest things expeacailly at the action track. i dont injoy getting hurt. but i am ok just a few things wrong with my neck. thanks to bell helmets not

Mark - thanks for checking in, and glad you are OK. So - what do you think happened to your helmet / helmet strap?
