As apparent on the posts here, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. For my money, there is no comparison between ASCS 360s and winged 410s. Part of it is because of the ASCS format, but I think they just put on a much better show. Even if they didn't, it would be worth the trip for the POWRi midgets.

I saw the WoO Ironman 55 at Pevely and it was truly incredible. But this will be a good show and with the addition of the midgets, it could be a great show. Hope the car count is good

I like how ASCS actually deducts passing points for drivers who lose ground in their heats, although it does make for a rather convoluted formula. Then again, the POWRi formula isn't as simple as it could be, either.

But regardless of the formula, I just love that neither series time trials. Barring a bunch of flips, this should be a quick, entertaining show this evening.

If I'm reading the rules and points chart right, it's just one set of heats. 100pts. is the base number, then it's a 7 pt. drop for each postion. Then it's 5 pts. added for each postion gained, and 1.5 pts deducted for each spot lost.

In order to figure this up manually, I'm thinking it might be wise to double all these factors, in order to eliminate the awkward 1-1/2 fraction. (Make it 200 pts, drop 14 for each spot, then add 10 or deduct 3 as the case might be for the passing points. I find it easier to multiply by 3 than by 1.5 ) Then just divide the final number by two.
