No, but the micro car count reached 70+.:thumb:

It's just amazing how these indoor micro races get so high of a car count for the relatively low purses they're running for. Du Quoin had nearly 75 cars for $700 to win. How many would they have gotten had it not been so bitterly cold? 100?

My first time at Du Quoin for the Winter Series. Very impressed with the building and a decent crowd for the extreme cold weather. I was also impressed with the number of cars. I certainly wasn't expecting that type of turnout.

Had the chance to see some IOW folks as well. Ronmil and Aero were in attendance and I had the opportunity to meet Petey as well.:applaud: An enjoyable winter evening of entertainment.:thumb: I am going to try and return next month for more.

The midgets ruled, i enjoyed the micros until about the 5th heat and 20th flip...im just happy they have self starters, haha...a longer midget race would be great, 30 laps on that little track blew by...the crowd turn out was very impressive and the bbq was great...hopefully i can make it back next month...ill have to be sure to run into some of you guys there hopefully.

[QUOTE=Sprint Fan;25745]I was told by a friend that went the 600cc Micro Main ended this way,
no mention of young Chase Briscoe's finish? Maybe Risky will post some info later. He IS a chip off the ol' block.:thumb:

Chase had a pretty good run. He just missed the feature by about an inch. His crew chief was his problem Sat. night lol. In the B main only 3 transfered and chase ran 4th. I had the car to tight and had a huge push Chase tried everything high low but just kept losing ground. But with about 5 to go after trying about everything he found a way to get the push out of it. He reeled 3rd place back in and on the white flag caught 3rd place guy in 3 & 4. Chase dove under him in and raced him to the checkerd missing the transfer by an inch. He missed the show but I was still happy with the results. He only has about 25 races under his belt and to search the track and figure out how to get an ill handling car to work was enough to make me happy. That was a tough 75 car field.

I have to say that I was very impressed with POWRI. They ran an excellent show. Anyone that gets the chance to check them out needs too. :thumb:

Kevin,

I was very impressed with the young man. I was rooting for him to transfer to the A main and I thought he had the deal done on the last lap. Another lap and he would have made the pass. My first time to the Winter Series at Du Quoin but certainly not my last. I was very impressed with the car count and the quality of equipment. Looking forward to seeing young Chase again.

For those of us that weren't there but plan to hit the next one, what's a rough guesstimate on the temperature inside the place so we know how many layers to bring along?

With the temperature in the single digits outside last Saturday night, I had on a sweatshirt and winter coat as well as long johns and I was very comfortable. I saw people wearing everything from carhart's to t-shirts. My best guess would be that it was around 50 degrees or so inside the building.
