This topic about Illinois late model speedweek has had more discussion than any open wheel topic, which is interesting when you consider USAC has a double header this weekend at Bloomington and Tri-State. I think late models in Illinois are more relevant to most of the readers here than half a dozen automated posts about ASCS made every week. A lot of discussion related to motorsports of all forms has migrated to X/Twitter and Facebook, which is a shame because places like this tend to have fewer trolls and comments that are just brain diarrhea.

There have been plenty of open wheel happenings in the last few weeks that haven't got a peep on here.

You could be the guy that starts the thread.

If the majority wants to make Illinois dirt late model racing a primary topic here that's of no particular consequence either way. I can participate or not. If the Illinois dirt late model's are of more interest than what is going on in Indiana far be it from me to question any of that.

That said, I live smack in the middle of all the tracks participating in the dirt late model speedweek. For those of us who enjoy dirt open wheel racing equally or more so than the dirt late model "stock" cars, for whatever reason, it's a dirt open wheel wasteland, with Jacksonville being the lone exception. And, for what it's worth, I also saw, and remember, how dirt open wheel sanctions and the people at the head of those sanctions were treated several years ago by the flagship track of Illinois dirt late model racing and of this current series. In addition to that, I promise you, Indiana Sprint Week isn't the slightest blip on the metaphoric radar of Illinois dirt late model banter on social media.

So last night in Illinois:

MOWA was at Jacksonville. I feel like that was Armitrage's first 410 win and he did it on the last lap.

Badger was at Kankakee. RJ Corson got his first ever Badger Quick Time. Adam Taylor won. That team had a tough, tough 24' after winning the championship in 23'.

Sprint Invaders were at Davenport(right across the river). 27 cars. Nienhiser won.

Tonight it's all open wheel at Sycamore. 32 IRA, 21 Badger cars checked in so far.

You could start threads and talk about all that.

Or we could talk about another Late Model race that Bobby Pierce didn't win

You're slippin'. You forgot the KKM Challenge at Macon Speedway.

As I stated, it's no biggie to me. If ya'll wanna' talk Illinois dirt late model racing, fine by me. I live in the middle of it all.

But let's alter the name of the website forum to accommodate your vast yearning for Illinois dirt late model racing so there is no ambiguity regarding what is fair game to be covered.

Have at it.

Honestly I like most forms of racing. I did watch both high limit races and both USAC races. Thanks to FLO, I have fallen in love with the late models again. On these short tracks, the racing has been great. Kudos to LODLMS and FLO for putting on a great week. I'd like to see more of this. Honestly how many people had Davenport winning not 1 but 2 of these races. I didn't even have him winning 1. He is good, but not normally good on the little tracks. His cars like that clean air.

I think an Indiana Week would be cool to. Kokomo, Lawrenceburg, Brownstown, and Tristate would be a killer week.

Throw in Montpelier and Circle City.
