That would be the worst thing possible. I have been going to Sprintweek since it was the old Tri track championship. It never had a big event feel until USAC became involved. In fact the car counts alot of time were lower than today. Lets see good crowds, good quality car count, big event feel. What are we trying to fix? I saw all the shows, I wonder how many people who are wanting change saw?

Just my thoughts.

So Rog..

Let's say you get your way and USAC gets dumped.

What kind of Indiana Sprint Week do you have when USAC schedules events outside of Indiana that would go head to head with your sprint week shows? I would say you have the standard weekly show without the cars and stars of USAC. Is this what you really want Rog?

So who would u lose? The Hoffman car? Stewarts 2 ,Kahns 2 ,Contos etc so maybe lose 10 cars . I think the cars u would gain would outweigh the "Cars & Stars" that would follow USAC.

Isn't that KISS?

PA now runs two Speed Weeks; the original and the Keystone Cup. I'm sure the Indiana tracks could support two.

PA also runs Tuesday through Sunday. The original plan was that every track ran on a night on which they did not normally run sprints. Then, they would run a non-sprint show on their regular night. That way, they got two nights of racing in that week. Somehow, over the years, it has slipped to the point where most of the races at the sprint-racing tracks are on their usual nights. They must have found that works better. Or (my guess), they are not good promoters and would rather just run their regular show at a higher price with a higher purse.

For those of you who seem to have some sort a problem with a track, grand stands, track lighting, schedule, driver, car owner, promoter, sanctioning body, officials, flagman, car owner, watering truck, announcer, fan, pit pass price, pit accomodations, qualifying procedure, line-ups: Try not to take any of this personally. They are not purposely trying to ruin your day. Why don't you just show up and enjoy it? Quit griping. Have fun. If you are not having fun, then don't go. Life is too short to torture yourself if it makes you so unhappy.

My health is not so good anymore. Neither is my money situation. I would go 100 times a year if I could. I will get to go maybe to 3 or 4 more races at the most this year. I will treasure and enjoy every race no matter what. I love this stuff.:thumb

Gregg,

Great post! Sometimes we lose track of the important things and resort to complaining and griping. When I returned to work today one of the girls in the office asked if I had a good time on vacation. I told her no and she looked very surprised. I told her that I had a blast and would do it all over again in a second. Due to some family health issues I won't begin to see as many races this year as in the past. I look forward to every one of them that I will be able to attend. A day at the race track beats the hell out of most other days. Now when is the next race?:O:

Gregg, how dare you bring common sense and logic into this discussion. I agree, even a "bad" race is better than the prospect of sitting home twiddling my thumbs. I've got three kids, so my time and finances get pulled in every direction. I cherish the few races I get to attend each year.

It has long been said in the military, "you ain't happy unless you're ********".
Using that as a guideline, there are many more happy folks on IOW than unhappy ones.
And yes, I know I've done my share, but that is all in the past (until the next time.......).

I complained a little before but after reflecting on the past 2 weeks i am just upset i didnt hit all of the shows. I had not taken my rv anywere all spring till ISW, i even had it advertised in a few papers to get rid of it. I had such a good time at the shows i got to see at ISW i dont care to sell it anymore..Like everyone else gas is expensive i just try not to stick the hose in it as often.. If you dont do the camping thing at ISW you are missing it!

As far as getting more local cars i liked the quality of cars they had and yes i might reconsider NOTgoing if the big teams wernt there.I dont get to excited when some local guy tries to go out and qualify with a motor that sounds like a potato is stuck in his header...

I think the schedule was great, i wish Kamps would get there dust problem taken care of and ad the Action track ..

Yes usac needs to stay in charge, I just want to see racers rewarded. The main thing i hate is that if you get a bad drawl in qualifing your night is almost over. I hate watching top guys that missed there set-up get passed then give up. Get up on that wheel and make the best of it. Yes I love raceing, thats the toughest thing my wife has to deal with, if its not raining we are at the track. I'm glad u enjoyed sprint week, I did to, but i think we would have seen even better raceing with a few tweeks. ISW is something very special that USAC controls. Its ok to make a few tweeks for these few races.
