I think D.O. has come up with what would be a great Sprint Week, with one exception. And that is North Vernon. As long as DA still owns the place (or is affiliated with it in any way) they just can't go there. Because if they do and something bad happens, then they have nobody but themselves to blame. But, it's probably a moot point, since I think USAC has completely washed their hands of DA, already, anyway.

Give the Fleetwoods a break!!! So DA owns the track but the Fleetwoods are running it without DA telling them what to do. Maybe Terry Englin could book the date. Terry always ran a tight show with no support classes.

Sure it would be tough on the teams but it is SprintWeek the biggest event of their year.

I think that you have to consider track locations. You don't want to have to zig zag across the whole state.
Thur -Brownstown or Union County
Fri - Lawrenceburg
Sat - Gas City
Sun - Kokomo
Wed-Kamp
Thur - Bloomington
Fri - Terre Haute
Sat - Haubstadt
I would rather have TH last, but for travel convenience this is what I would do.

I think THAT would be more willing to take a midweek date than Bloomington. Gas City and Bloomington will always have Fridays and they deserve to. DO, I gotta disagree as long as DA owns it(North Vernon) then he profits from it. It has nothing to do with the Fleetwoods, they put theirselves in that position by dealing with him.

Just a thought but as I sit here and look at this I notice that Kamp, Kokomo and Gas City are all 3 in the Northern part of the state. Why not run the 3 of them in some sort of order then make your drop to the south. With fuel prices the way they are you could save some miles. Also only my opinion, but I would love to see Twin Cities back on the schedule. The racing was always very good there. I can still remember several years back watching my 1st ISW race there and Rip Williams and his crazy slides into the turns. Oh Well, have a great rest of the Sprint Weeks. Bob

Yes, being from Jersey, I have only done either the first or the second half the 3 times I have done sprint week. I will be out on Wed. to do the 2nd half and I wish they would put the halves closer together. Its almost like 2 separate weeks. The crews do need a break so a 2 day break with one being a make-up night would work. (crews got a break on the RO!!!)
Or how about having the Mon. off, racing Tues/Wed. somewhere, then Thurs off again in the middle?
Also, the schedule must be travel friendly for all. and should be on the reg. nights the tracks run (Gas City = Fri. L.Burg = Sat. ect...)
D.O. I like the idea behind your schedule.
Come on Wed. Hope everyone has a great enjoyable week and drive safe. Please watch for the crazy ones from PA :moon:as they tend to enjoy their cold ones a lot!!!:wink

I have nothing against the Fleetwoods. My home track used to be where the Sprint Week finale was held, each year. It's now not on the schedule, because of Dave Allison. That had to be a tough decision for USAC to make. They need to think just as long and hard before they reward him by putting money back in his pocket, again.
