Usac does not have regional midgets anymore. They have the national series which is dirt only and they have west coast midgets.

I think Tyler's referring to the USAC Midwest Thunder series, which has races scheduled so far at Montpelier & Waynesfield...

There was rumor of a 10 race schedule usac was doing in Indiana but haven't heard anything on it.

I thought Jay was going to have some races in Southern Indiana too, but it looks like I might as well fold my tent, I can't drive/pull 2.5 hrs to the nearest track, must be a bunch of cars far, far away. Bob

I am trying to line up some races in Southern Indiana. We had a track lined up for several races but the track itself ended up not being able to operate this season. Hopefully we can come up with a few races we still have plenty of room on the schedule.

That'd be good, I think there is lots of interest, just no place to run within a couple hundred miles. Thanks for looking! Bob

He asked the right question. Appears that things have changed.

my fault, heard of like a 8-12 race midwest schedule not D-2 but guessing it fell through.

Jay, why not take out the D2 part, all together, and just leave it "regional midgets"? Leave in the "suggested" donor motors that can be used, and what little modifications that can be done with them, leave it a Quick Change rear end, and the rest pretty much what appears to be a std midget, it's hard, at least for me, to distinguish where the break is between a "National", a D2, and now a chaindrive variation, I found some stuff this morning, from this website, from December of last yr, and it goes on and on about this and that, but doesn't really end anywhere, a lot like HC does. If you read it like it is written, to be able to use a "junk yard" donor motor, you might be out before you start, if you even wash it, or ck the oil in it, before you pull it and race it, where with some of the other options of power, you can do about anything, including using a 2-3 yr old National engine, I think where this needs to go, is KISS, make a single page of rules, and include the cc/cu in max, stroke and bore if you feel it is needed, allow cams and pop up pistons, better rods, valves and springs, and kinda overlook any port work that can be done by any home owner, and letr rip, tater chip. I know this sounds lavish to some, but it sounds like racing to some of us, do what you can do, yourself, you can't make any money with FedEx, UPS, and USPS leaving packages on your doorstep multiple times a day, and the only fun you get is that, opening packages, paying for them is not an option, make it understandable, so the guy that just got home from WWll, as they used to say, can race, have fun, drink a few beers, and laugh with his buddies, and not have to think about not making the next race, with the right man at the helm, this could be a fun ship to enjoy a trip on, I think, but then I'm old, and my memory is still pretty good. Sorry if my rocker and your tail came together, but I feel like it is time to do it right. Bob
