People need to quit bringing up the fence at Twin Cities. No fence is perfect at any race track is perfect. If you don't feel safe at watching or racing at Twin Cities, stay home!!

Brady Short just flipped out of the ball park and over wood billboards at Tri-State a month or so ago, didn't see a huge out cry on here about it. I am sorry but, Brownstown, Bloomington, and even Lincoln Park's fence would not hold back a sprint car if one decided to go through it.

The only reason the hornet went over the wall and through the fence at Twin Cities years ago, was because the dirt had built up over 2 plus years of not being graded down. The point at where the hornet went over the wall there was only 3 feet or so of wall showing and he ramped up over the fence. I raced a mini stock those years and that build up of dirt on the wall was a nerve racking and I prayed that I didn't end up crashing and hitting and going over myself.

The new track promoter and crew are doing a great job this year. Some of the best racing I have seen there in a long time. Love seeing the Sprint Cars back. Keep up the great work!!

I will be there drinking my Yingling watching some great sprint car racing!!!

Still don't know why people pick this track to go on about a fence when like I said others are as bad or worse

I was at Devils Bowl when Jeff Swindell cleared the frontstretch fence and his car landed completely in the grandstands. I've seen sprintcars clear the turn 3 wall at Knoxville. Seen Dean Jacobs completly clear the turn 1 fence at Eldora.
Race cars will always go where you least expect them to and end up in the most unlikely places during a crash.
Certainly some tracks could improve their fencing no question.
I know of a race team that went to a track once apon arrival they saw something they didn't approve of safety wise in the wall. They didn't race there that night, they left and raced at another track that same night.
I'm more worried about people texting and driving and drinking and driving.
The most dangerous thing I'll do is pull out of my driveway. Ha!
Hope all racers crew & fans have a safe weekend at all tracks!

Name one time that fence stopped anything. I would not have said a word if you didn't defend it. name one track that has modeled their catch fence after TCRP. It is what it is and has been that way forever. It seems as though they are trying to do good things there, and hope they have success as that would be a very expensive project, especially if they do not own the property. I doubt you can actually name a track that is worse. Comparable, but not worse.

Non one says anything about going out of the ball park at THAT right? Seen sprint cars land right beside people and on top of parked cars in the parking lot or let's not forget Daytona when larsons car blew in pieces and parts went through the fence there?? Even the best fences don't wrk somtimes it's part of it if it's gonna happen it's gonna happen

That driver happened to win that night at Putnamville. The problem was rebar sticking out of the wall and the owner refused to clip it off. As it turns out that might have been the worst race i've ever seen. Can anyone guess the driver and the track?

Linton = Salem

Salem has had multiple cars out of the park this year. Same issue that TCRP had with dirt building on the wall, however Rick and his crew have done a great job trying to improve that facility.. Salem needs to do the same.

I know the fence protects the fans, but what protects the driver in a hornet... ?

Having been there that night, as I recall, the rebar was in the new spectator section, and had been bent over, so they could continue pouring cement/concrete for new seating, I don't recall seeing any sticking out of the concrete wall on the track side. Bob!
