How about Vitor Meira and Panther Racing. He has stayed very consistant on speeds and has finished in the top 5 the last 4 years and geez isn't he due to FINALLY win an IRL race

There is not as much hype over Dixon getting pole down here in New Zealand as I would of expected.

Scott is the 1st and only Kiwi to win pole for the big race...

Other Kiwi's at Indy

Denny (Denis) Hulme competed in the Indianapolis 500 on four occasions: 1967, 1968, 1969, and 1971. His best results in the event were in 1967 and 1968, both times finishing fourth. He did not compete in the 1970 race, due to methanol burns to the hands after a fire during practice.

Bruce McLaren - race-car designer, driver, engineer and inventor had 3 cars bearing his name win the Indy 500 (Mark Donohue 1972, Johnny Rutherford 1974 & 1976) all with Offenhauser engines.

anyway, yes I voted for Scott in this poll, but I voted for Vitor on another site

Chris, you read my mind, I will also be rooting for Davey Hamilton to drink the milk at the end of the day Sunday.

Davey also has plans to run the International Classic for supermodifieds at Oswego Speedway over Labor Day Weekend this year, I would love to see him win both races in the same year.

Davey has a strong fan base in the supermodified community, everyone I know is going to be pulling for him to pull off the long shot, what a celebration that would be. No one in the field for Sunday's race has worked harder to be there than Davey has. Best of luck Davey!!!!!

Going out on a limb here. The one that wins will be driving a Dallara with a Honda engine.:checkered:

Rooting for Davey Hamilton. One of the few sprint car guys we have left.

Kanaan isn't the favorite this year and is due so that's my pick. Tomas Scheckter is my dark horse. Has the car if he can keep it out of the wall for 200.

I would like to see Ed Carpenter win it. Some one who has raced the short tracks in this country.

i'm rooting for someone with Indiana dirt track under their nails, #24 John Andretti (just to rub michael's nose in it), #22 Davey Hamilton (just to thank him for the new Action Track), #20 Ed Carpenter, or #67 Sarah Fisher. it's about time an underdog won it again just to shake up the big teams. bob:checkered:
