How about Southern Illinois? The are some house we like around Marion.
Also, what about Terre Haute? Bad ass race track and some nice property(the Internet says)

Staying south of a line drawn through Bloomington & Columbus,less snow,easier winters,nicer roads,centrally located to many dirt tracks

Gas City 2 hours
L'burg 1 hour 20 minutes
LPS 1 hour 30 min.

Haubstadt 2 hours 40 min.
Eldora (see above)
Paragon 1 hour 20 min.

Brownstown 45 minutes

As an Illinois resident, I'll advise you not to move to Illinois.

Headed to look at a few houses this week. They are all over the place. A few outside Brownstown, one in greenfield and one outside Terre Haute. Thanks for all the input.

Don't count out Ripley county in Indiana. Very quiet community with in a skip hop and jump to cincinnati and Indianapolis airports and all the great racing in the midwest. Good luck in your choice.
