We need some help with our name. Back about 20 or 25 years ago a new race car was developed. People took old Midget frames and installed motorcycle engines in them. Since the World of Outlaws was just getting popular back then they also installed wings and called themselves "Winged Mini-Sprints". As time passed and after several Austin Powers movies, people began to feel that the term "Mini" to be degrading.

Please help us with a name.

Remember when you was a kid and got that first two wheeler. What came with that present? That's right training wheels. I kinda of look at wings as training wheels for race car drivers. If you are starting your kid out racing wings are kinda of like support for the parent, they don't prevent flips , but they sure tame them down a bunch.

So wheres the 1000-1200 graduating CLASS at?

Many cant afford full up midgets or sprints and I've seen em run darn close to one without the wing. Pull the wheels once in awhile. Let off the gas because the situation calls for it.

One of our big problems is===With Wings On we are so darned fast it scares a lot of the other non wing people.

We can't help it, that that that is how God made us, Low weight, plenty of horsepower, and those big old sideboards make for very quick lap times on those smaller tracks out of a little bitty old race car.

We got some people that I wish would graduate out of the class and let a few other people win. In racing I would rather be "RICH" instead of "LUCKY" and us poor folk just keep racing 1000 CC midgets. If a few of the other classes ever find out how cheap our racing is we would have big trouble. You could buy me out for the price of a mid pack late model motor.

When I race them (600) they were just mini-sprints.

I dont really care what we call our selves, but i do know that if we keep changing our names every off season we arn't really helping ourselves out. We need to just stick with mini sprints or lightning sprints. People wont think we are better then a midget or sprint car or whatever. They still see us as those little go karts with motorcycle motors. Personally im ok with that, we have grown a ton in the last few years all over the country and continue to grow. Leave the name the same for awhile and lets us keep growing.

Never understood why so many different names. Its just a mini-sprint. Not a problem.
