I like what they have done there, Thinkin outside the box. With the dirt track they have now it doesn't take motor and Brett Mann say you have to be up on the wheel to drive the place. It puts it back in the drivers hands and not how much $$$$$$ you have to buy HP.

Leave it asphalt. It is a racey joint for outlaw late models and any of the stock car divisions they run. The CRA Super Series and the CRA Jeg's Series both put on great shows there. HOSS puts on a good show there as well. Maybe they should leave it asphalt and bring in MSA or ISMA supers. A bi-weely dose of supermodifieds would be a great addition to the racing scene in Indiana. We have enough dirt tracks vying for sprint cars as it is. I like it as it is myself

pick something and stick with it. The current set up is good. #1 problem, whats next? If they put dirt down, I really don't see them ripping up the pavement. So then the question will be, How soon will they switch back? The question is not what should be ran, it what are guys willing to race? What are guys willing to go buy or build to run at your track. I can set here and tell you that I want to see Late Models or Full Size Midgets. If you do not have guys in the area willing to buy them, you are not going to have me as a fan very long. I am not going to pay $10 every week to watch 4 or 5 cars run. Most of your sucessful tracks run classes that are made up of mostly local drivers. Back to what I started with, pick something and stick with it. It is really hard for racers to go make the big investment on a car when they have no idea if they will be able to run it in a season or 2.

The problem with Supers is I went to sandusky for an MSA show and only had 12 supers 9 modifieds and 12 street stocks. Not sure they would travel this far.

I'm not a big advocate of pulling up the pavement track and replacing it with dirt. Their pavement program is pretty good and with car counts dwindling at the dirt tracks already operating, it may be hard to make it work as a dirt only facility. At least 1 more season with the bullring inside the paved track should give a better measure of what would be good to do with a dirt track at Plymouth.
History has proven time and time again that the best thing for healthy racing is a high concentration of tracks. Look at Iowa for example...

If they don't run UMP Modifieds weekly, then Saturday would be a very viable option. I'm not sure if UMP would allow another track to run weekly Mods so close to Shady Hill.

Another season with more races on the schedule is indeed needed before any serious changes.

UNP used to have a 60 mile rule for UMP sanctioned tracks, but they have since done away with the rule. They could get UMP sanctioning, in fact I beliee they had ump when they ran mods earlier this year.

That is correct they where UMP earlier this year. They did away with the 50 mile rule racing on the same night about 2 -3 years ago.

Plymouth is UMP sanctioned and any UMP registered Mod will receive UMP state/national points at Plymouth. Our first night, there was a UMP tech inspector present.

I think promotors are missing a opportunity to groom they're racers for the 410 class. Here they run the crate 602 modifieds as a support class to the modifieds. It works perfect less than 4 grand for a brand new sealed long block, 4500.00 for a perfect roller. 10 grand for a winning car complete. 7 grand less than a new minisprint. When a guy is ready to move up all he needs is a engine. he has everything else including experience setting up the car, ect. Thats one of the reasons theres plenty of mods in the pits every weekend.
You could easily do the same for the sprintcar class. no need for 20-30 grand 305's and 360's or whatever. The engines are also long lasting, I know of a couple that are running the same engine for over two full seasons, a little tired but still running. Then you could have two Sprintcar classes every weekend. By the looks of the polls thats what people like.
