How about an old midget frame adapted to work with a late model, motorcycle engine and chain driven. $2500.00 for the frame $1500.00 for the motor, cheaper than your average crate motor, and faster than most race cars on a 1/4 mile dirt race track. All we would need is a name for these things.

The Illini Racing Series out of Northern Illinois which usually get around 20 cars per night. They run basically a spec format with restrictors and any midget engine can form to their rules. Oh and the tires last 5 to 6 nights and the right rear costs $80.
