I remember the car that you are talking about. I think #26? And he built it himeself if I recall correctly. But I do not have any photos. There's an old buddy of mine that checks in here on IOW from time to time named Ovalmeister that may have a photo or two of the car. Maybe you could PM him and let him know what you are looking for. I received your pm and I will go through my stash of goodies and see what I can come up with. The name is vaguely familiar but I can't seem to mentally picture the car. Do you know what color is was? #26 like Seadog said? I'll look and see what I can find.

Schlafer drove #1 car 1986 little 5 Marv carmen drove Schlafes #8 dowker roadster the same dowker roadster marv won with 1983 Little 5 were is that car today$$$$$

Fuzzy Fassbender and Gary Schlafer at Slinger in 1974.

I know this isnt the car your looking for but thought Schlafer's car looked pretty cool.

Actually the car the Carmen drove for Schlafer in 1987 was not the Little 500 winner. It was originally the black #81 of Malcom Lovelace when he ran USAC. It still is around and resides in the garage of a guy in Anderson. The 1983 Littel 500 winning car is in Don Smiths collection in Terre Haute. He retired from racing in 1990, moved to Wisconsin and built Beaver Dam Raceway. He will be promoting a huge Motorsport race in Indianapolis this July.
