Press release states that is entry level. I wonder if they are going to have an entry level cost.

Wouldn't it be great if they would publish the specs to have other builders build the cars. I know that there are a ton of regional/local car builders who could build the same car.

I'd rather think of it as a tribute to some of the best looking racecars of days gone by.

I am curious about the target buyers for these cars. Legends cars have traditionally had a strong following from people who have a lower than average mechanical aptitude. They were marketed to be of minimal maintenance with the 'focus on the fun!' Those same cars have initiated careers and opened the eyes of a thousand young racers to the world of motorsports.

Dirt cars will need a much more consistent maintenance program. I believe these cars may not be as popular as the Legends cars (4000 built over the years) but they have the capital backing to push beyond the 'good idea gone bad' syndrome seen every time the Next Big Thing comes along. I think I'd rather see a class like this than dirt track front wheel drives or mini stocks. It is a structurally sound, consistent car in competition on a surface where setup is a great factor in conjunction with a driver's ability.

The Legends cars have always put a premium on cost control and availability of components to everyone. I have always chuckled at the 70' toter/stacker and the SUV/16' tag trailer parked side by side. They both have the exact same racing parts to choose from front to back. There is no reason to believe these cars will be any other way.

I'm in favor of any cars that get people to the racetrack whether to race or watch!

Why do we another class for short track racing? We have enough as is. This is all about them making money and the back gate at whatever track will race them.

Here is a great idea, about getting spectators through the front gate instead of increasing the back gate.

Well, be interesting to see how it develops, but I am assuming coming from 600 Racing, and their calling it 'entry level' that this will a cycle engine powered 5/8 scale version of the old Nance/Edmunds mods, and yet another version of the already market saturated 'scale' cars designed for kids whose dads have visions of glory for their up and coming young'uns, and pocketbooks to back it ... and, as mentioned, parts will be only be available from the originator and their distributors (600 Racing) ... I always have loved those body styles though ... JMHO

I agree with kat. There are three Micro tracks in the state of Oklahoma these cars would fit in perfectly. Althoug, we as a insdustry need to get kida away from the xbox and get them in some sort of racing or there might not be anymore racing to speak of. Of course I am generalizing.


I know in Oklahoma where back in the 60's and 70's these body styled cars were eveyone people are kinda excited to see the body sytle reborn.
