The NEW Sportsdrome Speedway

The first saturday in March in an open and FREE practice for ANY and ALL race cars... If the Sportsdrome is giving something away for free, we need to take advantage of it. I hear that the practice will be from like 1-5 and totally FREE for ALL. Drivers and fans alike.
I think this would be a great time to fill the pits up with cars and fans. Some fans that normally wouldn't get to go back in the pits.
Perfect time to have some other cars run the track that we would like to see more of. Legends, trucks, mini-cups, go karts, open wheel, anything with 4 wheels!
No registration, no pit fees... Totally FREE for EVERYONE.

At the end of the season they tore up the entire track and repaved it. They also put up a brand new wall. It would be nice to see some open wheel races in the future. I think cars like the Hoss sprints would put on a heck of a show.

It's in Jeffersonville/Clarksville. I can't think of the name of the road (maybe Kopf Lane), but you can see it from I-65 at about Exit 3 or 4.

Yes you can see it from I65. The track has been mostly stock car racing in the past. I am not sure how long the new owners have had control of the place, but they have made several major improvments over the last 5 year. All of the stands are aluminum. 3 or 4 years ago they added a hospitality area in turns 1 and 2. nothing special but it looks nice. Most of the pit area is paved. This year they completely redone the track. It is suposed to have 2 different types of pavement. The high side is supposed to have more grip. Hopefully a few of you will be able to take advantage of some track time. And maybe we can get some open wheel cars there for a race or 2!

I used to go there for Midget races with my Father in the 50's.My father's friend by the name of Bob Wilson had two Midgets and we always went there to watch him.It was really a good midget track at that time.
