i agree with beau, its a 1205 class not a stock thousand class, you wanna run stock thousands then run mmsa.

and i also have to agree with don, henchcraft makes a good car.

Personally, I don't think the Henchcraft is any better than any other car out there. It is a beautiful piece for sure, but I think a well setup Bailey, FOZ, or ERC could run with them any time. Why Henchcrafts typically run better...well they cost about as much as a sprint car. Someone who can afford those can obviously afford better engines and spend more on tires.

I know you aren't being negative. Drew will be in the 7 car this weekend. I hope I can make it down there, my two older sons have soccer games this Saturday and I coach both teams. So I may not be able to make it, but I will try.

Drew and Aaron, add George, and you have the Pollock's! Your dad and I go back a long time, last time I saw you guys, you were at Westport, running karts. How is dad, still looking for the advantage? Tell him hello for me. Bob McClure

Bazzaz make a traction control unit that will retrofit to any one of our popular engines ........it will engine mapping and timing mapping also..........is it worthwhile..........who knows? Personally I think that takes away from the essence of dirt track racing ie car control. You cant say stock ingition only but you can say no Bazzaz tracion control!

Jerry is a pretty smart cookie and it is in his (and our) best interest to make racing competitive and fun for all while reducing costs. Big changes in rules can cost people big time and we have to massage what we have and gently push it in the right direction. Ultimately the rules for a racing class have to evolve to cope with changes in technology if it is to remain affordable. The amsa is in a great position to do this.

Weight rules give everyone a chance no matter their pocket (see the California Lightning Sprint club rules for ides)
Tire rule Im sure may save money
Bore and stroke regs are easy to monitor at the track
No ignition units like the bazzaz I mentioned above

Just my 10cents

PS Guys I suspect (please comment) that the Hench, because it is a raised rail car it can be run very soft on the backend ?

I don't think raising the weight will help a whole lot. I know my car weighs 970, with a stock engine, and I know of atleast 2 other cars that are very competitive that already weigh close to 1000.(one is over 1000)
