Reading this post is amazing. I've been involved with racing for over 40 years and one thing for sure that will kill a track is the lack of varity in the schedule. People and racers get bored with the same old thing. With my involment in racing at all levels I have not seen a promotor work so hard to try and please everyone. Dave doesn't rule the Burg with an Iron Fist like some promotors. Dave is very forward thinking when it comes to the racers welfare and all in the best intrest of the fans.
True race fans enjoy all levels and types of racing. Sure some classes of cars pack the stands more than others. Don't you think Dave knows this? What I don't understand is that all the sprint car races this year have been second to none. Been going to Knoxville since 64' and I can tell you this without any doubt that the Burg puts on a Sprint show that rivals Knoxville. The shame about this is that when you look over to the grand stands, there less than half full. Why? Not sure how to finish this up but to say that the schedule was published early in the year, if one class of cars felt they were getting slighted by not having enough races, then it should had been address at the start of the season. Waiting to the middle of the year to start bashing a track on a public forum about it's schedule is not a true race fan. What we as race fans and racers need to realize is that we have one of the finest facilities to enjoy our sport in the midwest. We as a group need to positively support the efforts of Dave and the staff of the Burg. |

I just think mod drivers will be running points elsewhere now b/c they have ran more elsewhere.
I dont care how good the facility is if the product is not of the same level. Its like building a pro stadium for a high school team makes no sense. The amount of money you pay for something sets our expectations of the product no matter what it is. They always say ya get what ya pay for. Am I so wrong as to expect more? |

Have a great week, Dave P.S. Not to mention, a 10,000 to win Late models race, a $5,000 to win Late Model race, a $50,000 to win late models race. 3 $10,000 to win winged shows, and 3 $10,000 to win non-winged shows.Plus a $5000 to win sprint show. plus a $5000 to win sprint week show,a big midget week show and i guess we could go on and on, bottom line is there is tons of racing left for 2009, we have only begun, and so have other tracks, we need people to support all these tracks to continue to do what we do. Thanks
