Understand, but that definately wasn't a slide job either....Hunter was committed to the bottom and stayed on the bottom.

Having been on both ends of that deal more than I like to remember, IMO it's all on Hunter, Ballou had already dedicated himself for the corner and lifted and Hunter blasted in there, no chance for Robert to steer out of that deal. That said they are both fun to watch, glad neither got hurt. Every racer has a little brain fade someowhere along the way.

Im just happy they are both ok.I wasnt there just seen the video.Did by any chance Hunter show him a wheel on the bottom between 1 and 2?From the way I see it Id say its a racing incident.Hunter seen the bottom open and had a good run and maybe thought he could or did get there before Ballou came down and they both happened to meet in the same spot.Being a racer Ballou knew he was there because you can hear people behind you.Not blaming Ballou at all because Hunter probably could have lifted slightly to but everything happens pretty quick and watching it on video instead of from the seat will tell you a totally different story.

Hell even looking at the tape from the front stretch versus looking at the one taken from the backstretch tells a different story. In reality since there was no tape taken from the infield or from that turn we really dont know. Hunter went deep in turn 1-2 and got a monster bite in the moist stuff up there, dont think he showed him a wheel over there. I guess my only feelings on it is that in a heat race with nothing to be gained why take the chance.

"Just one of them racin' deals!"

And what does it matter when they race like that... I don't pay a full ticket price to watch hard racing in just the A! Both Robert and Hunter are out there to win, everytime they strap in... that's their job. And in my humble opinion, they both do an admirable job most of the time. That's why we come watch, right? They both epitomize that Rich Vogler quote: "Even qualifications is a race, and I go out there to win every race that I enter!"

It's just racing. It's what racers do, it doesn't matter what experience level they're at. I will say that doing it in the heat race when you're both in transfer spots is kind of bone headed, but it's just the racer mentality. Here's a video of some kids just started out doing the same exact thing, only last lap of the feature.

Now if that would have been Kevin Swindell there would have been two threads and 40 pages on how bad he screwed up and how big of a he is....it was a racing deal yes hunter shouldnt have been that aggresive with them both being in transfers but hes a drive hard every lap kinda guy and ballou is the same way if it was the other way around it would have ended about the same...cage did its job but latley i have seen some tore up roll cages from not so hard hits..maybe we need to look into bulking them up a little seems like it wouldnt hurt..what do you guys think...
