You're right. That's just an awkward way to hit. I'd say 99 out of every 100 times it wouldn't hit like that. It's a mircale he's ok.

The move was a stupid move at that point in the night. Everyone around where i was setting said the same thing. 2 laps to go in the heat running 1st and 2nd. Although as racers we sometimes do alot of stupid things. Glad to see everyone ok, just hate to see good cars destroyed this early in the year.

Robert and Hunter are both stand on the gas drivers neither one will give an inch weather its at Kokomo GasCity or Eldora and that is what keeps people coming back is the hard charging competive drivers its unfortionate these things happen but lets look at the positive side Robert aint 150 pounds of dummy walking around or worse I think we also need to thank the people at HANS and the other safety equipment facalities for keeping those we cheer for safe most of the time it was a racing accident it happens we wah race all have been their sometimes it intentional which is a whole nother story but lets just be happy Ballou is ok

I saw it live and thought it was a bonehead move by Hunter. However later I was asking Aero where Ballou ran the lap before, thinking Hunter tried to go somewhere else and maybe Ballou changed his line. After seein g the video, Looks like Ballou changed it up a bit from the lap before and Hunter was trying to take advantage of his great run out of 2 down the backstretch he had going into 3. Pretty agressive driving by both drivers in a heat race. Thats why I love sprints on dirt! Awsome racing, but I will gladly do with out these wrecks.

Just watched the video, looked to me like Ballou had the option of movin up the track a little. Looked and sounded like the cage took a nasty hit on wall. Good to hear that he's okay.

At the point of contact, Hunter was a foot in front of Ballou....and holding a consistent line on the bottom IMO. I'd call it hard hard racing, and if I was Hunter, I wouldn't of lifted....if I was Ballou I might of lifted, or at least kept the car in the middle, as the inside car seemed to of had the spot, but Hunter came in there pretty quickly so maybe Ballou was already committed. Glad neither are hurt, the cage sure took a nasty hit.
