Here is the way I understand it. It depends on who holds the liquior licesne. When Greg Staub ran The' Burg he had a local bar sell beer so you could bring in your own. He made his money off the rent paid by the bar.
ORP is also catered and I believe IMS is also and as THAT is now or was.

I can not understand why a track would want a liquior licesne, with cost of liquior liablity insurance and the chance of getting sued over a liquior accident. Let a caterer take all the resposniblity,no worrys and you make a buck on space rental for the track owner.

www.in.gov/atc all the laws are posted here.
i carry a temp alcohol permit.
The reason i sell beer is to make money, the same reason we sell food and drinks. If your not in it to make money you are a fool. I gotta go now and wax my mercedes and clean my mansion.
Have a great weekend and just go and enjoy some racing.

What are you going to do when someone has to much beer and kills somebody? Then sues you and takes you for everything your worth.

I used to own a bar and liquior liability is expensive, I hope you have the insurance, because if you do not you are playing with fire. I can not see how the cost of liquior insurance can be worth selling beer once a week.

Again it seems it would be smarter to let a caterer sell the beer and take all the responiblilty, you can charge them a fair rent and everybody is happy. You make money with no liability, the caterer makes money and the fans can bring in their own beer.
