FYI, the 31 links between cams means nothing, how could you change it? Sounds like you might have it close to the cams being in time now. The cams run at half engine speed, which means a 2-1 reduction by the crank gear and the cam gears/sprockets, so no matter how many times you turned it thru, you would still have the same number of links between cams. Before I tried to touch it off, I'd google "how to set cam timing" on your particular engine, you could still be off far enough to mangle the valves, which is not a good thing. Good luck, but I'd double ck on google, to find out if it is indeed right. Bob
