2000 zx9 with dyna 2000 ign. any one know how to set the timing. i replaced the head gasket put the cams bac in brought #1 up top and lined int up with rear case top and ex up with the front case top but soon as i tighten caps down the valves open a little bit on #1 intake and the engine wont turn please help

Stock tensioner or do you have a manual style one? Sounds like you're getting some extra tension on the timing chain somewhere. That might be the issue. Just a thought.

stock tensioner i found a paper that said the cams might be degreed 101-102 intake and 104-105 ex would this make a difference

thanks i finnaly think i have it we will find out monday when i get it finished. but it finnaly lines up all the marks and turns over with 31 teeeth in between cams. rolled it twice still 31 so hopefully it is good. my biggest problem was not having any marks on the crank. but thanks to all for the help
