I have read this post a half dozen times to try and figure where the comparison to this incident should tie in all the "kids" of this sport. We, this team, usually take the high road on all incidents and do not comment publicly when something happens that is controversial. However, it appears that you are attempting to lump all the young drivers into a stereotyped group so that when something happens, it can be chalked up to their youth and financial backing. For the teams and parents that have worked very hard to make sure their drivers or children are respectful to the fellow drivers, fans, track management, and especially their sponsors, this posting is a little unfair.

Some of the young men and woman that race today, regardless of their age or financial standing, are honest, caring and love the sport Racing. They do their best to emulate the best drivers in the business, while looking for the respect of their peers and all parties involved. Actually, not some, MOST.

I believe these young people will find your post offensive but will not make a stance because they have been taught better. So I will make the statement. Bunching everyone of these youngsters into a group that associates them with something this dramatic is wrong. Regardless of Financial Standing or Age, an incident this dramatic is unfortunate and we believe unacceptable just like everyone else. But we respectfully request to not be labeled, just like some of the other youngsters do, as a "problem group" because of age and financial standing. It is just not right.

We are friends with the Memmers but certainly do not condone or support John's actions on that night. I am sure their Family has taken a serious beating by many over this incident. As for the rest of the "kids", I can assure you this is one group that would not have to wait for any sanctions to be placed against our driver. He would already be back in New York working at a Hamburger Stand if that kind of actions took place under this Flag. I am sure that is the same with many other parents of these young guns. So please be a little more cautious with your tagging of these kids. Most of them are going to do this sport a lot of justice in the coming years.
