Video of wreck between 2 UMP Super Late Model competitors - This happened Saturday, May 16th 2015.
A reminder of how dumb some racers can be and how dangerous racing is as a sport.
#27s Mike Schulte #18 Bobby Dauderman

VIDEO LINKS
Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lhVlHiz_tE
Part 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFxS6ieK_Mo

#18 Bobby Danderman is stupid for getting out of the car & maybe suspended for 2 weeks but #27s Mike Schulte should be ban for a year or life by WRG / UMP for his actions. He could have seriously hurt or killed some one.

YOUR THOUGHTS?

What this video does not tell is the history between the two. Is this the first time the 18 roughed up the 27 to past? Is this his normal mode to pass? Any other bad blood.

Getting out of one's car is one of my pet peeves for many reasons. I personally think that both drivers should get the same penalty. If the 18 stays in his car, this does not escalate like it does.

no real history between the 2 drivers! The #27 has a history of racing other drivers dirty side by side.

POSTED VIDEO PART #2 of the accident.

No excuse is good enough. Ban him for life. Suspend the guy who got out of his car for the season. I thought we had learned this lesson.

if i was in charge of any race track in the area id ban the 27 for life

First of all...cool track! Second, typical late model fender car crap. But I'm almost certain that there is enough video evidence here to hold up in court if the guy getting out of his car was to press charges. One could argue the guy was trying to forcefully run his vehicle into the other guys with intent to do harm. Even though it's on a racetrack, he flat out tries to run him over...you can't really deny that. Not only should he be banned from racing, he could be behind bars as well.

1st off it's not just fender cars <> bone headed statement! I've seen crap like this with open wheel cars as well.

I can count on one hand how many times I've seen this in open wheel cars. Mainly because after a crash, the cars stop and can't refire on their own.

I can't even tell you how many times I've seen this with cars that have 4 fenders and doors. I'm not bone headed...I drive an open wheel car, and I would NEVER do this to anyone...ever.

It is a cool track though. Looks like it'd be fun to race on.

Like in any walk in life not every driver is the brightest bulb in the room so these things sometimes happen.

Bud you open the door. Your Typical fender Crap statement is what caught my eye . All I said is I've seen this crap happen in Open wheel cars as well. Just Because I post on the IOW forum doesn't mean I have some against fender cars (like some on here do) as that is where I come from and where my passion for racing is (Late Model & Modified) but I still like open wheel cars as well. I was trying to see what folks on here thought. That statement just sound like some sort of dis towards the teams that race those types of cars not <> NOT trying to be rude but that is how it sounded to me. That's great you have driven open wheel cars. I wish I could too. Karting was as far as I could go unfortunately I got priced right out of it. Not to bring up a sore subject but I figured about 8 months ago the Kevin Ward accident would have opened the eyes of drivers. Apparently the driver of the #27s has learned that yet.

I MIGHT BE A FENDER GUY BUT KOKOMO IS STILL THE BEST TRACK IN INDIANA.

Anyway have fun at the track this year and let's hope we don't see another accident like this one. :6::32:[/B]

It's bad enough he hit him once but to go down thru infield and around to hit him again!!! That's ridiculous!!! Rubbin is racin folks... Especially in mods... But he Could've seriously injured someone whether it was other guy or officials, volunteers helpin with track!! The more I think about it the more it ticks me off!!

Actually, you should try it a third time and leave out the idiot part. (unless you're talking about the driver) ;)
I agree, and I'm sure JonR does too, no excuses for that behavior on a race track.

No excuse for what the 27 did. However, I will say it again. If the 18 stays buckled in his car, this incident does not escalate like it does. Absolutely nothing good comes from a driver getting out of his car on the track. How many times do we have to re-live history before we learn this lesson.

Nathan

Jerks are Jerks are Jerks>>>>I think all of us have the Jerk inside of us just waiting to be brought to the surface... All forms of racing have their fair share of jerks>>>It is just that they don't usually last too long in open wheel racing. Had a guy tried that pass in a real open wheel car one or two things would have happened either one or both cars would have leaped into the air and one or both would have flipped out of the race track..I have seen it done and sometimes by some of the best drivers out there $hit just happens sometimes>>>>Usually it is hopefully followed up with an apology and a hand shake.>>>sometime a bit more. We all make mistakes but when we follow it up with two or more other ones that might classify us as a "JERK" and like you said racing is dangerous enough without adding in a "JERK" who becomes a detriment to both himself fellow racers and innocent by standers and track crew.

By the way a bit of racing "etiquette" When the front wheel of the overtaking car reaches the driver's seat of the car being overtaken>>>>the car being passed is expected to give the overtaking car what is known as racing room and does not include rubbing fenders or in the case of open wheel racers banging wheels and allow the pass. He may then come back the next lap and do the same to the car that had just passed him and expect the same curtsey in return. You see this all the time when you watch good racing either open wheel or with fenders.

That guy needs another way to express himself maybe Demolition Derby's. :)
