I apologize. Thanks for the help. Yea just visit www.waynesfieldracewaypark.com or visit us on Facebook. From I-75 go 8 miles east on US Highway 33. Turn left on Waynesfield Road and the track will be on your left hand side a mile down the road. Hope to see you there. Will be exciting to see Jack race again along with some of the other great drivers attending. Heard rumor that we might see Dave Darland racing also. Hoping two time winner Jonathon Hendrick will be in attendance. Come on out and see one last great race in the 2012 season.

Re: 2012 Jack Hewitt Classic September 16
I have stated before that we would like to attend this race but being a Sunday night I still have some reservations. I am leaning on trying it but don't want an all night marathon like LPS had this past week.
This is a special event and four classes don't give me a great deal of encouragement for an early departure. Running the sprint car feature first now has me thinking it could be doable. Even with an hour earlier start time, adding the modifieds didn't help. Since no one else in the region is running that night, how many modifieds can we expect? I know, how many ever show up.:15: Any thoughts on this are appreciated. |
Well, there were 50+ on July 3rd and there were no other tracks running. In addition, the 4th was a holiday. Since this is a Sunday and late in the season, I would guess it would be less than 50. Of course there are so many mods within a 2 hour drive. It could be 100.

Re: 2012 Jack Hewitt Classic September 16
Well just as promised I will run the Non Wing cars first. I will push the show as much as possible too. We are going to qualify at 5:30pm and race immediatly after that. I will hot lap one class prior to non wings then hot lap non wings. I will then go straight into qualifying so they have the same track as they hot lapped on. We will then finish the rest of the hot lap sessions and straight into heat races. Unless something drastic happens we will only take a very short intermission after the b-mains and then right into the main events. Like I said before my goal is to push for 10:00 -10:30 at the latest. I'm guessing we will see 32-40 non wing cars (we had 41 two weeks ago for a regular show), 28-34 mods, 15-20 mini sprints, 15-22 trucks. Hope to see you there. I too have to work the next morning so you know I will push the show as much as possible!

Please try to get some moisture in the track for this big show. It will make it much better for competitors and fans. It was awfully dry right out of the box 2 weeks ago.

Would like to. It's a little harder on a Sunday, but we will see. Even if I'm not, for everyone one else that is, it would still be great to have some moisture with a cushion. Especially for Dewitt Hewitt!

Re: 2012 Jack Hewitt Classic September 16
In looking at the weather forecast on Sunday with a daytime high of 74 and an overnight low of 52 with a 0% chance of rain right now. That and with a promise of the sprint car feature being run first, RacinBabe and I just might try to be there. Come on, someone twist my arm.:3:
It was a great show last year and I enjoyed the Reynolds Memorial race there earlier this year. After two straight weekends without any racing, I need a fix. |
Re: 2012 Jack Hewitt Classic September 16
in deed, i'm with j t/ theres no rain in the forecast, and a big field of cars a-comin, so dig that track up n water it till it can't take no more n then water it some more/ would like to see em shoot'n up rooster tails at the start of the feature/ ted johnson is dead n so should be the dry slicks!:8:
