Who? - Double Duty @ Gold Crown? Sprints?

I know that the midget field is already stacked, like a huge Powri, USAC show...

But who will also be running a sprint car on Thurs, Friday night?

Re: Who? - Double Duty @ Gold Crown? Sprints?

According to the promoter's entry blank, anyone racing in 2 classes will pay DOUBLE PIT PASS cash. :7:

Why get involved Don , it doesn't concern you , you're not running anyhow .

Re: Who? - Double Duty @ Gold Crown? Sprints?

I totally agree with Don on this. I have only been asked to pay two pitpasses once before while doing double duty and that was at the old Jacksonville speedway. I told them I would never do it again and I won't. They told me because I was competing for two purses I should have to pay twice.???? (***!!)
First of all a pitpass is not an entry fee. It is for admittance and insurance. Period! Second of all why would anyone charge the people who are the entertainment twice to entertain their audience. I don't get it.
I dont know if Gundakers are indeed charging two pitpasses, I would seem to doubt it because they are usually pretty in touch with their competitors. However if they are indeed charging two pitpasses to one driver it is completely wrong and I would not support it.
Just my opinion. Every one is entitled to theirs. I wish the Gundakers all the best this weekend and hope everyone has a safe and good time.

Re: Who? - Double Duty @ Gold Crown? Sprints?

I agree that this is wrong. Let's face it, when the driver brings another whole team with them (which is usually the case), they are bringing approximately 3 or more additional people to pay pit passes that would not have been there. I believe this may hurt their sprint car counts a bit.

Re: Who? - Double Duty @ Gold Crown? Sprints?

Didn't realize they were just racing wingless sprints on Thurs. and Fri. I'm going down to West Memphis on Fri. for the ASCS race then plan on coming up to Tri-City on Sat.

Yes I agree with Don on the double pit passes.:7:

Here is the deal right off of the Gundaker Gold Crown Entry blank available on the Tri City web site:

"If driving more than 1 division a night you must purchase an additional pit pass for each additional class"

Charles Nungester 9/27/10 2:17 PM

Re: Who? - Double Duty @ Gold Crown? Sprints?

If I buy a pit pass as a fan, Just too walk around, Do I have to buy two or three just because there are two or three classes?

IF ITS A ENTRY FEE PER CLASS, PLEASE STATE SO CLEARLY! the two passes for two classes is BULL. They are already making you more money by bring extra crew members, fans and stuff due to more cars.

Back gate BS.

What with all the belly aching:11:Double pit pass for 8 guys who probably can afford it(east, loyet, jones, clauson)off the top of my head.IF YOU DON'T WANT TO PAY DOUBLE, RACE ONE DIVISION.Or run one of the other tracks in the country that lets you race for free:16

ps Mr Moore if you send in your entry now maybe they will let you run the TULSA SHOOTOUT:18:

I believe that this is a track rule and is a result of us stock car guys. A lot of guys in the St. Louis area were runing open comp late model, crate late model and dabbling in modifieds. People love to watch a guy run every class, but the idea was to discourage some of the bigger late model guys from running the lower divisions.

Again, Don and Chad, you guys have no intention on running in 2 classes, so why the beef?
Or are you now considering running with the 600 minis and Midgets, Don? I'd hate to see a wang on the #10...:18:

:2:Hey no beef with me. I am not even going to go now. As I said before I believe it to be wrong but I wish the Gundakers well and hope it is a huge success for them. Have a great time this weekend to all.

Now back to the original post. Who all is going to be doing double duty? I can think of about 10 who may try it depending on if their equipment is still together and also if any of the wing guys take of their wings for Thurs and Fri. The weather looks fantastic, wish I could be there.

Re: Who? - Double Duty @ Gold Crown? Sprints?

Once again the thread turns into "The Don Moore Agenda". I do have to give him credit as he has not mentioned the Purple Tire Company in the last 2 sentences. Mr. Moore you have already stated that you will not be participating in this event.( as is your right). Why do you continue to create ill will for an event you have no plans on attending. Now quit stalking this event, and go back to your miserable, depressed cave. You are a bitter man Mr. Moore, now quit stalking this event.

Re: Who? - Double Duty @ Gold Crown? Sprints?

If there's any agenda, Mr. Funk, it's to inform the uninformed people like you about what goes on beyond the pit fence. You race fans are constantly on here posting about car counts, why this team or that teams doesn't show for such and such a race etc. etc. There are reasons why car counts are what they are at certain tracks and why some teams don't show. This thread is about drivers/teams who may possibly enter two different classes. If you did your homework, you would notice that after I pointed out that the promoters are collecting double pit pass money that several objected to this practice. Secondly, I'm sure some teams have already read about the double pit pass fee themselves. They didn't need me to point it out, but I'm sure some were not aware of it since it's buried in an entry blank on the web site. Bottom line Mr. Funk, whether I point out this fact or not, some teams are not going to show for this event because of this practice. If you want an example of what I'm talking about, reread what Mr. Branson has to say about double pit pass charges. If I were going to consider racing two classes at that facility I certainly would like to know the pit pass fees before I showed up and I'm sure many have no idea that they will be charged double. And you can be assured that there will be some that will show up and will be very unhappy when they find out. Contrary to what many of you fans think, there is a lot more to it than loading up a race car and showing up at a race track. And contrary also to what you think, not everyone that shows up at the pit pass shack is a multimillionaire as someone else thought in one of the posts in this thread. Many teams that you watch on the track live week to week with their race operation, pinching pennies here and there to survive. Have some respect for the lower budget teams and those that don't have a million dollars to spend in one season. Paying the promoters twice could be a very valid reason why you people in the stands are constantly on here posting about car counts. If 20 guys want to pay double to race there, more power to them, but there are probably just as many who won't show because of it. Paying double to enter the pits is a very very uncommon practice and as you can tell by some of the posts is not very popular.

Re: Who? - Double Duty @ Gold Crown? Sprints?

So let me get this right Mr. Moore. You checked the website of a show that not only you are not going to attend, but have bad mouthed more than once in the past week. Gosh, the reason you did it was you knew an unimformed guy like me could be disappointed by the car count. Always looking out for someone else. Give me a break. Mr. Moore you may consider me uninformed, but I know BS when I hear it.

---------- Post added at 07:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:11 PM ----------

Thank you very much Mr. Moore for letting me know how I think. All this time I didn't know.

It's stated in black and white 100% clear on the entry form right above the purse layout which I KNOW was the first thing Don Moore checked out.

I guess Chuck and Don just don't read very well.

Don, it's always personal with you. You degrade and insult anyone who disagrees with you in the slightest manner possible. Fans, drivers, crew car owners, officials, you insult people who put more time, money, and effort into their racecars for one race than you do in an entire year. I'm really sick of it. Look in the mirror for a change.

I have to agree with Don and Chad on this............A Pit Pass is simply a pass for admission to the Pit, nothing more and nothing less.........

You guys can all calm down... According to USAC, The Gundakers have waived this rule for this weekend so as not to punish the drivers running USAC midgets and sprint cars.

See you there...

Gee Don guess that took some of the wind out of your sails.....unless you are gonna try to take credit for it.

Im running both.... good decision by the Gundakers if they are waiving the rule, not sure why they feel the need to make a rule like that for their locals that run there week in and week out.

I'd be more than happy to pay double pitpass if I had a Sprint Car to drive at Gold Crown. So far only the midget.

Email me if you know of someone that needs a sprint driver for Gold Crown...tmeseraull@gmail.com

Thanks, T-MEZ

Bazaar - a market (as in the Middle East) consisting of rows of shops or stalls selling miscellaneous goods

Bizarre - strikingly out of the ordinary

Anybody know if any drivers are doing double duty on Saturday night when the 360 winged sprints are scheduled to run? How many 360's can we expect? Also, is there any chance of talking to the promoters about running the non-wing sprints on Saturday night also?
