Gotta love Smoke
i was watching espn and they ask him about danica, he said he couldn't beleive he was getting interviewed, that she must be off for the day or something. haha. :3:
She is pretty fast though. |
Re: Gotta love Smoke

normally I'd watch but I've basically turned off daytona and been enjoying the NCAA basketball on ESPN and so on, it's not as hard to mute the danica commercials as it is to mute a whole race...... Never in history has someone so below average been given this much praise and hype. She might help ratings for a couple of races but look how lousy the IRL ratings are even with little miss media... is it spring yet? think I'll wait untill I can go see some REAL racing at my local short track!

Tony is just as guilty. It was a year or two ago that he asked on the radio under the yellow how his "future wife" finished at the 500.
I have to agree that the hype is a little over the to, but she does draw fans and ratings. |

Thanks!" quotes from Danica. Also the stomping her feet walk down pit road is a little tired. Green race cars are bad luck. We'll see it in the Danica 300 today and the 500 with Mark Martin tomorrow. |

Re: Gotta love Smoke
You have to admit Danica has one heck of a PR company. The IRL should hire them or better yet USAC and maybe they would grow in popularity.

Re: Gotta love Smoke
Wondering if Danica happens to have a top-ten finish today in the Nationwide race -- what will all you pundits have to say?
"She was driving the best car..." Really? better than Jr's and Kyle Busch's and Stewart's? "She was lucky..." Really? at Daytona... for a rookie? Just watch the race -- she may (or may not) surprise us all. Either way, she's at Daytona racing today and we're not... JP |
Re: Gotta love Smoke
Well, Bryan Clauson set a pretty high bar for a rookie at Daytona. Of course, he can't even get a damn ride because of crap like this...

Re: Gotta love Smoke
Did anyone notice that there was another female in the race :11: Rusty Wallace's daughter. She's starting out just like her brother :17:
When Danica got collected in the wreck, it became "All Danica" in the replays. They even ran constant updates for her along the bottom of the screen. Lets see what Danica could do against Erica Santos in a midget, sprint, or super or any of the other female drivers running in USAC. I think they would give her a run for the win every time. I'd love to see what she could do in average equipment. Seeing she's average in top equipment Lets hope for a safe season :6: |

That was Rusty's niece, Michael Wallace's daughter Christy Wallace. |

Someone should have asked Smoke what it was like to win the Nationwide race and be nothing more than a footnote.
Watched "Windtunnel" Sunday night and Dave Despain said most of the emails he got were negative towards "the gurl". DW said that she would help sponsorship for other teams and that she could drive. I disagree, everyone watched her debut (ARCA ratings up 60% but, 60% of what number) IMHO those were probably curios IRL fans. I doubt these ratings increases last very long. The Nationwide race showed that she has a lot of work to do just to be any sort of competitive. |

Dont indy cars virtually drive themselves? I mean all you do in those is push a button to save fuel. Or "set the speed control" for pit lane. They have so much down force you hardly have to do anything. My honest opinion is that those cars are a joke, and we will soon find out that she will be a joke in stock cars. And didnt the one race she won in IRL turn out to be a fuel mileage race?

:3::5::17::19: Yea, you get in one at any track and let us see you let it "virtually drive themselve".:3::5::3::5:;) |
