Deanna maybe if you weren't so closed minded towards other sports you could learn something to enhance our desperate sport in need of such revitalization. You never answered my question from your other thread (one of the million you create btw); how many races do you go to or how many race teams do you help? With all your free time you seem to have by making odd threads that are completely off the wall, please get involved. Even paying for your favorite drivers pit pass will mean a lot to them. I am not trying to be mean and I have the upmost respect for women so I hope you don't bring that up at least with me. I love seeing any type of person involved in sprint car racing who is statistically not well represented, it is good for everyone!

Good luck defending your sports marketing thesis to the racing gods, Dr. Marketing Doolittle. Racing aint desperate for $#!t except for the need for a few in Indianapolis to find better jobs in Detroit! You don't know me or where I go or what I do and I don't have to answer to you. I hope I can break this down for you Deanna...

1. I am not in marketing (although I find it interesting and obviously useful).
2. Not really sure where your comment is coming from about a few in Indy need new jobs in Detroit; this will not save racing.
3. As I told you before in my post that was deleted, you can contact me for PM for further details to get in touch with me. If you are so hardcore racing, I find it hilarious you won't even admit to the fact that you most likely don't go to many races or support any racers. That is all fine and dandy, but don't talk a big game to people who actually do support racers and try to give you positive suggestions to do the same..because you are changing nothing in the racing world.
4. I never asked for my @ss to be kissed, but I don't even see why you are allowed to post here if all you want to do is cry wolf about the racing world.
5. I don't keep making new accounts Deanna. I have read this board for 5 years and just recently signed up, but your paranoia is pretty obvious.

I really hope you can work through whatever type of problems you are going through in the future. As others have stated, it is apparent you have some issues and I am not talking solely about the state of racing. Good luck...PM me if you feel the need for further info on me

Well, whatever is what I say. I see a lot of validity in what Deannalynn is trying to say. Doesn't mean I agree with it all. By the same tokken, just cause you have a job doesn't mean things are grand for everyone referring to the state of the economy, ********, and world affairs. We can turn our heads and backs only so long before it beats us down with reality. By the same token, I would like to say everything will be just fine and work itself out. But if it doesn't someday, I would not be surprised.

To each their own if how they want to think. It is still America and there is still more freedom of many things than most.

Again, whatever is what I say. Wish I could be more concerned about this topic but I am not. Too busy trying to survive and go to 15 races a year and save my house verses going to 60-80 races a year. Just cruel, cold hearted facts.

Im glad there are still people like you out there, Hunter for darn sure is deserving. I love that whole Fatheadz RSR team and Ooley. They should be in victory lane far more than they are. I hope it continues to be fruitful.

While it might have used to be worse than a football player or Pro Wrestler in Life span, Id say the average racer by far surpasses the 47 year life expectancy of those professions

Did you ever stop to think about all the factors behind racing safety improvements? P.S. Can somebody please PM me with what I said that was derogatory or negative towards any tracks or racing in general? I know I've been a smart@$$ to some other people who have complained about some things, but what did I say or do to become captain of the ***** squad? I honestly can't remember what I did or said that was bad about sprint car racing. Was it my opinion about the state of IndyCar? Is my opinion about that bad for sprint car racing? If so, mia culpa.

Yeah and almost every improvement came at a very high price. How many years did they race with no cage or belts? Even after they were available? You still have many unwilling to use a life saving device thats available now and cheaper than a couple RRs.

Note* Id never tell a racer what to do. I do question why many racers WONT.

Chuck, who's actually still seen a sprinter with steel homemade tank under the fiberglass and short back aluminum seats with no head restraint . This year.

And yes, I actually myself jumped in a bomber with no suit and no gloves with nothing but a stock saftey belt and single bar roll cage twice. I know why! and I think to myself. That was just STUIPID! but it was FUN!

I think 95% of the people on here would rather see constructive posts that better sprint car racing. Nobody cares about the Andretti's, Penske or Ganassi. It's a different world. It's not someone we can relate with, nobody sees them race on a 3 nights a week basis. The only connection at the moment is Bryan Clauson racing in Lights. Thats cool, but it's 6 races, something that is as long as sprint week spread over a whole season. Don't try so hard. Get help if you need it. I'm the same age as you. I came into this 5 years ago not knowing anyone, and only seeing stuff from afar. I'd wasted half of my life, and had a lot of time to make up. If you think the first time I ever walked into victory lane at a USAC race if any of the photographers would give me the time of day? Hell no! Some of them still won't.

Just remember some people have an ego like they have the stats of Jack Hewitt. In it's simplest form, a racer (sometimes) just gets the glory for driving in circles. The crew fixes a car that has a much better chance of breaking then anything else. The photographer just takes a picture. The fan just sits there. The owner just spends their money. The promoter just collects money and the writers just present facts. But there is a lot more to it then that. Stop being a keyboard warrior and go to a sprint car race already. At your age you should be capable of embracing change. Don't stay so hung up on what once was, just be a small part of whats happening today!

Wow, quite a post. Had to go back to the beginning to remember what it started as. While her style might offend some, I have found most of her posts to have some substance. Jack Hewitt's and many other old schoolers style could have used a little polish too. The tangents here about sponsorship and moving the sport forward are more important than many might want to admit. The post regarding all the soccer fields and other facilities built is spot on. I lived in Northern California when Baylands was closed, in Southern California when Ascot closed and Manzanita too. Spent more time than I care to remember at each, and had more fun for my money than any other sport. But how do we move our sport forward? I have watched as X games and monster trucks, off-road and other sports grow while the sport I love is struggling. What will we do to get it to the status it deserves?

Well, thats my $0.02. I like the thread and the debate it has started.
