If your real serious call this guy and pump him for some info, Carl VanHorn at (570) 698-5760. Tell him your a friend of "badgers". There is no better fabricator or brain in the business. He can give you some ideas I'm sure. He also knows where you can find anything.

Thanks for the number.

What are the main differences between all of the Silver Crown cars? What is so different about the 06-07 cars?

What kind of distance is there from the crank flange to rear end joint?

Thanks everyone!

Re: Symetrical Silver Crown car?

Well i have made some progress by convincing a friend it would be a fun project with easier to get parts than his current race car. Since im trying to cover all of my bases before hand it would be nice if i can get some answers for these questions.

"What are the main differences between all of the Silver Crown cars? What is so different about the 06-07 cars?

The idea is to make the car symmetrical(im assuming mostly changing lengths of suspension pieces and rear end), Install a gforce 4 speed with shorter drive shaft, and other ancillary parts to get everything to work. I have only helped out a friend race his midget so im a little ignorant to these cars and am assuming alot is the same just larger and beefier.

Thanks!

I know that some guys used to run a BERT transmission in the silver crown cars. I'm not 100% sure how many gears they had in them. I friend of mine that used to run silver crown has a BERT transmission that he acquired when he bought a dirt car from the west coast.

Bert transmissions are a two speed racing tranny. I wouldn't recommend one for pikes peak.
