Not any more. Not since the track reconfiguration. You can buy a ticket for the night race the day of the race.

I remember the MWTQRL trying this at the Rushville fairgrounds track. Everyone seemed to mind their P's and Q's until the feature. Drivers would go through turns 1 and 3 at the correct spot. But...

You may be right but how can you be sure? The camera and the fan filming was in the stands on the front stretch. The incident was across the infield coming out of turn 2 on a half mile race track...

Heard announcers playing up Jeff Gordon being the first driver to win 5 oval races at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Not to take anything away from Jeff's feat but it's still 2000 miles the same...
