So did Orville Yeadon who won the first one in 1965. He also ran that same tire in the other two 500,s.

They haven't been " outlaws" for years.
See the above comment about how USAC used to handle the situation. They were also protecting their brand long before " brand " became a big deal.

I realize this is from more of a historical aspect, but I never understood why no one ever put Jerry Blundy in an SC car. He had the miles figured out in sprinters.
