410 Non-Wing Sprints, UMP Super Late Models, UMP DIRTcar Modifieds, & DII Midgets

2024 Season: Race 1 - April 20th Brownstown (Crate LM). Unlike many I don't discriminate on what racing I choose to watch.

Hopefully they can get a modified ride, best payout of the night for what is the perennial support class. No clue how that happens

Mind... ...blown. Two headline classes, and the support class pays the highest purse. I wouldn't show up. I'm not going to wait through 6 mod heats and 2 mod B's before I race for less money than a lower cost car is racing for on the same card. I realize that purse is better than some weekly tracks pay, but ****, if I'm the fastest class at the track, I want the most money.

Pay more money for Sprint cars. Less show up.

Never understood that logic. So why pay more when you get the same cars you'll get for a $1,200-2000 to win regular show? Sprint car promoters can't win around here. Whereas you can pay more for Modifieds and draw from a wider area and draw a LOT more cars.

And you'd be surprised how much money are in the top Modifieds nowadays if you paid attention to more than just Sprint cars.

I think maybe they are ahead of the game myself..I always said the same thing..Big LM or sprint show and you get 20-30 cars..You put 3K on the line for mod guys you will get a ton..and I see no reason that UMP mods could not be the main show at most tracks on a weekly deal and then have specials for LM or sprints.. Wouldn't be a bit surprised if Schrader or Wallace didn't show.

Most of the front running UMP mod guys have just as much $$$ in there rides as do sprint car guys.. I know a couple from the St.Louis area that have sold USED UMP mod motors in the 25K range.

Pay more deeper in the field see how many show up. The same cars are racing for the win, they aren't worried about their budget. The guy who is trying to figure out how to buy a new RR is staying away. And as far as looking past sprint cars, I moved across the country because they don't have sprint cars where I'm from, and I know of someone who moved from Maine to Indiana for the same reason.
