Walker Excited About Bringing New Car to Chili Bowl
By Jessica Jenkins

When Gage Walker unloads at the Chili Bowl this year, it will be ahead of his fourth appearance in the premier event. He and his family-owned team are bringing a brand new car to Tulsa in order to put their best foot forward. Not only is the car new, but the paint job is also a complete departure from their typical red racecar with it now hosting a sleek, black look.

Coming off a season that did not fully meet his expectations, the just-turned 19 year old is looking to start 2017 off on a strong note inside the River Spirit Expo Center. With three years of experience on the quarter-mile indoor track, Walker is more confident than ever in his ability to take home the coveted Golden Driller trophy.

In his own words:
I'm looking forward to it a lot. It's definitely my favorite race of the year and that's pretty much why we race all year long (to prepare for it), so it should be exciting. I hope to make it into the A Main on the final night, not just my prelim night, and then go from there. We have a new Chili Bowl-only car from Spike that they are helping us out with and we are testing out a new IPC carbon body on it. So it should definitely be a little step up from our normal car since it's built for the Chili Bowl. It's definitely light and should be good.
