Tyler Nelson Ready to Make Turkey Night Debut
By Jessica Jenkins

With Thanksgiving coming up this week, one of the biggest nights of USAC midget racing is almost here as well. On the evening of Thanksgiving, the Turkey Night Grand Prix will take center stage in Ventura, CA.

For Tyler Nelson, it is his first Turkey Night start and his debut race in California. When he pulls into the 1/5th mile dirt track, the 19 year old will be looking not just to make the feature but for a top ten finish as well. Growing up in Kansas and now residing in Indiana, this is a huge step for the young driver as he continues to expand his horizons. Combining the USAC National midgets with the USAC Western Midget series, there will be a huge turnout, but Nelson is certainly up for the challenge.
