You were not the only person who relayed on what MRN stated. My twitter feed had a very bad mojo for a couple of minutes. However, it still does not make it correct. Especially, when the family provided an update on Facebook less than an hour before.

This is one of those times where you don't need to be the first person to put something on social media.

The post is gone and so is the poster. Do not post anything that does not come from the family of any injured race driver, PERIOD!! MRN should be ashamed of themselves. They should know better than to put something out there that they obviously didn't verify. They rescinded the story, but that doesn't undo the shock that it caused.

Have you heard how Ryan Geth is doing?

I think people might be jumping to conclusions to fast about this guy being bogus. I know it's not a family member but we don't know if he will turn the account over to the family or just send them a check. Probably shouldn't call him out like that until we know, there are some heartless people in the world but I don't see someone stooping so low so soon.

And then there's the holier than thou.I totally agree people should not post any drivers conditions under these circumstances.most folks by now know what's going on.the unfortunate part is that this is social media and that's what people do.socialize.this example is"have you heard how gerth is doing?"
